Edward Murdock Obituary
Edward was born on Nov. 4, 1921, in Washington, D.C. He was a retired tractor trailer driver and cab driver. He also served on the Alexandria, Va. Association of Taxicabs where he served as the secretary.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother and sister.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Gladys V. Murdock of Petersburg, Va.; children, David Murdock of Michaelsville, Md., LaRue Murdock of San Rafael, Calif., Edward W. Murdock Jr. of Las Vegas, Anne Coleman of Seat Pleasant, Md., Mary Johnson of Takoma Park, Md., and Gerline Smith of Washington, D.C.; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at the chapel of J.M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment Inc., 102 South Ave., Petersburg, Va.; the Rev. Dyson officiating. Interment to follow in Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
Honorary and active pallbearers are asked to assemble at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral establishment.
The family will assemble at 1 p.m. the day of the services and receive friends at 428 North Carolina Ave., Petersburg, Va., and maybe contacted by calling (804) 733-5679.

To all family members of Edward Murdock, We were so lucky to have met your dear father, loved one, husband, father-in-law, at Eileen and Eddie's wedding. It was a pleasure to have that chance. Eddie has always kept us up on the latest news about Ed and we were deeply saddened to hear of his death. He is in our prayers and we send all of you our most sincere condolences.
