Virginia Valenti Obituary

Virginia S. Valenti, 80, died Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, in Petersburg, Va., after a period of declining health.

She was born and resided in Dinwiddie County for many years. Mrs. Valenti called Prince George County her home for the last 10 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde B. and Louise F. Smith of Petersburg, Va., and her husband, Nicholas P. Valenti. Mrs. Valenti graduated from Petersburg High School and belonged to the Beta Epsilon Omega Sorority. She was employed by Petersburg Mutual Savings and Loan and Maclin Zimmer McGill Tobacco Co. She directed the Autumn Aires Senior Singing Group and loved to sing and play the piano.

She is survived by her daughters, Gail Morrison Seay and her husband, James M. Seay III, of Stony Creek, Va., and Donna V. Cifers and her husband, Leo Cifers Jr., of Prince George, Va.; grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Cifers, Brandon Nicholas Cifers and Lea Ashley Marie Cifers; sisters, Ellen S. Baugh of Petersburg, Va., and Alease S. Barham and her husband, Kenneth C. Barham, of Surry, Va.; nieces, Elizabeth Woodard, Mary E. Barham and Emily L. Seward of Surry, Va.; and a devoted friend, Molly Moody of Dinwiddie, Va.

The family will receive friends at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Blandford Cemetery. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.

Gail and Donna,
Please know our love and prayers are with you all in these difficult days ahead. There is a void in your hearts and lives that will not be filled.Just know there is no more pain, no more suffering, she is whole again, safe in the arms of our loving Savior.
