Della Cosby Obituary
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Anthony and Hannah Parham; her husband, Joseph Cosby; a son, Parham "Acut" Greene; and a daughter, Beatrice Creel. She lived in New York for many years before returning to Virginia. While living there she was a member of Abyssinian Baptist Church, New York.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two devoted grandchildren, Felicia B. Greene of Petersburg and Deandra G. Crockett (Billy) of Hampton; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Greene; a great-granddaughter, Jada A. Crockett; two nieces, Cynthia Caldwell of Ettrick and Muriel Brown of Georgia; other relatives and friends, among them a special grandson; Roderick Goode.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, at the chapel of William N. Bland and Son Funeral Home, Petersburg, with the Rev. William N. Bland Jr., pastor of Metropolitan Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery, Petersburg. The family may be contacted at 1621 Darby Drive, Petersburg, 732-4910.

Take comfort in the Bible verse at 2 Corinthians 1:3 for it states: "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort."
God can help his faithful servants to endure any problem or challenge that they may face, dear family. Just rely on Him and you will receive strength and comfort.
