Her aging hands are folded
As she sits there in her chair
Another day spent all alone
And no one seems to care.

The years pass by so slowly
Her heart is filled with pain
Oh what she'd give to go back home
And see them once again.

Her name has been forgotten
The months have turned to years
Inside she's died a hundred times
And cried a million tears.

Someone is there to see her
She quietly waits inside
He gently beckons to her
Her arms are open wide.

She wanted so to see Him
And called to Him each night
The emptiness has disappeared
For now He holds her tight.

The nursing home is silent
No ailing voices call
No med carts, pills or nurses
No wheelchairs in the hall.

Her aging hands are folded
The grace of God she's known
With eyes now closed in restful sleep
He comes to take her home.

Watch and Pray

“Watch and pray”

My Lord says to me

My heart He is directing

My eyes He opens to see

My ears He asks to listen

As my tears

Begin to glisten

In my mind

He brings pictures

Of destruction so unkind

A great storm has dimmed hope

Waters have covered many a home

And vast numbers are wondering how to cope

Lost they are wandering

Grasping at any straw

Only to find they are floundering

Their hope becoming ever distant

As good life and dreams

Seem to be gone in an instant

Where is God they query

As all they can see is disaster

And they grow ever more weary

Little do they know

Their hope they can regain

There is someone reaching out

Who by their side will remain

He is standing within reach

His wisdom and His ways

He lovingly desires to teach

He can rebuild a life

Raising up hope

And release from strife

The down trodden and fallen

Gently and tenderly

These lost ones He is callin’

Come to Me, He is saying

Find shelter under My wings

Are the words He is relaying

And who is this wonder worker

So tenderly inviting?

He is Jesus Christ the Lord

The Creator of all life

Rejecting his call no one can afford

He promises many blessings

Rewards He has in abundance

Our sins we must be confessing

Opening the door to our heart

Humbly seeking life eternal

Which gracefully only He can impart

Women Of God

Women of God

Stand up!

Stand up and speak!

Speak out!

Tell the world of My love.

Tell them of My salvation.

Daughters of the Lord

Give words of encouragement.

Give them to your children.

Give them to your parents.

Give them to your spouses.

Give them to your friends.

Give them to strangers.

Give from deep down in your heart

Study, My daughters,

Study and learn.

Immerse yourselves in My Word.

Imprint My word on your heart.

Then speak, speak My Word.

Speak it to those you love

And speak it to your enemy.

Tell them of My forgiveness.

Tell them of my promises.

Tell them of life eternal.

Tell them! Tell them!

Then receive from My hand

Rewards for your righteousness,

And rewards for your obedience.

You are My precious daughters.

You are My arms reaching out.

You are loved beyond measure.

You are the vessels through which

My Word is to be birthed.

So stand up women of God

And speak out!

Father In Heaven

Father in heaven

Hear my cry

Father in heaven

Hear my plea

Help me to see

Your will in my life

Show me your ways

In all I do

Father in heaven

Guide my path

Father in heaven

Surround me with love

Cleanse my mind

Of all its doubts

Remove far from me

All my fears.

Father in heaven

Hold me close

Father in heaven

Hear my pleas

As here I pray on my knees

Contrite, humbled and openly ready

For Your touch upon me

Father in heaven

Help me each day

Father in heaven

In Your arms I would stay

Help me to remember

To You each day

I should aim my heart

And pray to You before I start

Grandma’s Bible

Grandma’s Bible lays by my side

It’s cover all tattered and worn

As I tenderly touch it with my hand

It seems as if Grandma were here once again

Memories of stories read from its pages

While sitting on her lap, my imagination ablaze

I can almost hear her soft and gentle voice

As tales of mighty heroes and their wondrous deeds

She lovingly retold

And Psalms with such emotion she would recite

As she gazed heavenward, her eyes all aglow

I leaf through the pages of this well-read tome

Finding little momentos left there so many years ago

This Bible testifies of her faith

And love of its true words

It reminds me what a treasure my Grandma was

She stands tall in my memory

A true pillar of faith

Yet in reality she stood 4 foot 9

But every inch of her belonged to her Lord

Through this diminutive lady

I learned of God’s love

And the importance of His Word

Grandma has gone to reap her reward

But she left with me her well-worn Bible

And now it seems as if she is saying

In this threadbare book you will find

All the answers you need

Keep it close by your side

Use it as your guide

Inside is the world’s greatest love story

Inside you will find the only true path

To life everlasting

And love never ending.

E---edifier, elegant, empathetic, and encourager

The Path To Glory

What is that shining way up high?

Is it my Lord who has come nigh?

What is that sound I hear?

Is it His voice that is so clear?

I can see beauty in the clouds.

A path so narrow and yet so dear.

As it nears that place up there

At its gates I can only stare.

Mansions so pretty and streets of gold

My eyes in awe, they do behold.

It seems so very far and yet so near.

I long to draw closer and watch my Lord appear.

All the days of my life on earth

Will soon seem so small and of little worth.

My Lord will in His arms

Hold me near and far from harm.

There will be such joy, such peace

My spirit will rejoice for sweet release!

That day is drawing ever so close.

It will happen sooner than I imagine, I suppose.

I lift my eyes in longing and desire

To behold His glory and His fire.

On that day when I hear His call

I will not hesitate nor will I fall.

I will not look back because I know the end of the story.

I will gladly tread upon that path to glory

MY LORD’S EYES

My Lord’s eyes are so deep, so full of love.

A love so much larger than the universe.

His eyes are on us all

Even the smallest and least significant.

His eyes reflect a longing, a desire

To draw each one of us to Him

To heal us and make us whole.

He never asks us to become better

To clean up our act

Before coming to Him.

But to come just as we are

No matter how much sin is in our lives.

He seeks us out, here, there, and everywhere.

His heart breaking, bleeding for each of us.

He wants to make us whole

And make us into His image.

Maybe someday, we too will reflect

All that love coming down from above

And draw those around us

To our Father’s heart

And all the heavenly blessings

He has awaiting on each of us to bestow.

I Had A Friend

A long time ago when I was little

I had a friend to while away the hours

We would play with dolls and balls

We played jacks and hopscotch

We ran around the block

Or sat under the cherry tree

Then a thousand miles away

My family did move

My friend and I had to part

Some time ago when I was a teen

A bosom friend I found

To school we would walk

And back home again

We went to the games together

And yelled our lungs out on the pep squad

We shared all our deepest thoughts

Our dreams and hurts

Then we both married

And went our separate ways

During my twenties I thought I had

A soul mate for life

The man I married seemed to be

The friend who would always be there

But as time went by we grew apart

The day soon came when

We would find our dreams

Just did not go the way we thought

He too left my side

And I was on my own

In my thirties and forties

I have had a variety of friends

Some were good, others weren’t

Some were kind and helpful

While others just took advantage

Slowly the bad ones went away

And most of the good ones have stayed

I have a friend now

That is always there

This one doesn’t look the other way

When trouble comes along

This friend is never too busy

To stand by my side any time of the day or night

This friend always reaches out

With loving arms no matter what my mood

This friend I can call out to

And know He is always there

I have a friend now

His name is Jesus

He can be your friend too

Just call out, He’ll be there.

Your Mom always made me laugh. She was kind and very caring. She was always happy to see me. I know she is happy now to be with your Dad. She was blessed with six children to keep her company after he passed away. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. Shirley will be missed.

MISS YOU...GRANDCHILDREN

November 5, 2008

I miss you so much
i miss your gentle touch
i miss your warm hands
i miss being in your arms
i miss you keeping me from harm

although i was young, i still remember
playing ball in good weather,
sitting on your lap while you watched T.V.,
you always wanted to be close to me

i don't remember that one day
the day you had to go away
you never came back
now it's only you i lack

now you and i will never fish
you will never watch my wedding kiss
you and i will never go camping
you know what? i miss you grampie!
As I sit on my bed I realize you're gone,
but are you really?
I still feel you,
brushing my hair.
I still see you,
dancing in the moonlight.
I still smell you,
as you walk past.
I still hear you,
singing in the morn.
I still taste,
the wonderful sundaes.
But I still wonder,
are you really gone?
Under my dreams
I see your smile again
Under my wings
I feel your love again
Under darkness embrace
I feel your solitude
Under flames heart
I hear your scream
Under the stars
your lost soul is whispering the secrets to me
ashes to ashes
dust to dust
I have watched your soul how is burning
But still you hold breath for the new world
Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust
I hear the silent cry
But still you let to drown in them
To hide them from the world
Beyond the scars
I read every single sorrow
Deep sorrow had bury you
Beyond the sanity
I have felt your pain
Feeling your wound inside of your heart
Even you try to heal it
It won’t fade away
Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust
So many memories we had are now fading in shadows
So many years I have shed tears for you
Every tear has own story
But I hide them in my heart
Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust
Watching you how you’re burning in my dreams
But you hide the key to never unlock your world
And to never letting me to find you there
And hiding in your embrace
Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust
I close my eyes
Hoping you’ll be beside me
But you’re not
You close the gate for me
To never come closer to your heart
And to touch you
Just one more time
And I’ll disappear
Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust

I Finally Understand

After many years of searching
I finally understand that
My life is only temporary,
My soul is in God's Hand.

Have you wondered what
Your soul is worth?
What would someone
Pay on earth?

God thought that we
Were worth the cost,
He sent His Son
To die on a cross.

Our lives mean little
To most people here.
But, they mean everything
To our Saviour so dear.

I finally understand
And on my knees,
I'll pray that my Saviour
I will always please.

I finally understand
And forever I'll pray,
To make Him proud of me
As I live from day to day.
What If?

What if Jesus hadn't come to earth
As planned by God's design?
What if He had said to God,
"Father, I've changed my mind."

What if Jesus were not here
To comfort and console?
We would be so lost and sinful
With Satan in control.

But, with Jesus as our Saviour,
Satan we can fight.
There is no "What If?" with Jesus
Our friend and guiding light.

My Best Friend

The rain is pouring down outside,
A dark and gloomy day.
But, I won't let it get me down,
I've found a better way.

I'll put a smile upon my face,
A twinkle in my eye.
There's nothing that can bother me,
And, here's the reason why.

Within my heart I have a friend
Who cares for me and then,
If I get sad and feeling blue,
He picks me up again.

My best friends name is Jesus,
Just open your heart and see.
He wants to be your best friend, too,
If you'll only let Him be.
Someday

Someday when my life is through
I hope that I shall see,
A choir of angels singing
As they wait to welcome me.

I hope that Jesus meets me
And takes me by the hand,
For I want to live with Jesus
In that sweet Promised Land.

I know that I'm not worthy
Of the price my Saviour paid.
But, I long to dwell in Heaven
In the mansion Jesus made.

Stand Tall

In this wonderful world God has made,
There are visions of beauty to see.
Like an act in a play unfolding
And performed especially for me.

From the beautiful sunrise at morning,
To the glorious sunset at night,
It gives me the feeling inside me
That everything in my life is so right.

If I've tears from a sorrow or heartache,
The comfort I receive every day,
Eases all of my fears and discomforts
For I know God will show me the way.

I know that God loves all His children
He is sad when we stumble and fall.
But, He sent us His Son to protect us
And, with Jesus, we'll always stand tall.

The Angels Cried

When our Saviour died on Calvary
This one thing I know,
The angels gathered 'round Him
Because they loved Him so.

The Angels Cried

When our daughter took her last sweet breath
I know the angels cried.
As they carried her to Heaven,
Their tears they could not hide.

The Angels Cried

When God called for Dad and Mother,
They did not go alone.
A band of angels came for them,
And, cried as they carried them home.

The Angels Cried

Now angels came for my husband Ray
But, I know he is not alone.
I know loved ones were there to greet him
And welcome him " Safely Home. "

The Angels Cried

When my earthly life is over
And the angels come for me,
As they carry me to Heaven,
I pray angel tears I see.

The One That Jesus Made

If it seems I'm always happy,
I will tell you why, my friend.
It's because my Saviour loves me
And, His love will never end.

He's the light that I will follow
Through the dark He leads the way.
As long as He is by my side,
I know there'll be a brighter day.

And, someday when my life is through,
My earthly life I'll trade
For my mansion up in Heaven,
The one that Jesus made.

Just Count

Do you talk to God each morning
And at the close of every day?
Or, is it only when at church
That you take the time to pray?

Have you thought about your blessings?
Just count them and you'll see
How very much God loves you,
No greater love could be.

He only wants the best for you,
That's why He sent His Son.
If you tried to list your blessings,
Your list never would be done.

So, thank your Heavenly Father
Every day and every night.
And, thank Him for His Son
Who is our everlasting light.

If You're Sad and Brokenhearted

If you're sad and brokenhearted
Over loved ones who have gone
Write to them a loving letter
Or place your sorrow in a poem.

If your life seems, oh, so different
Their loving face you long to see
And when staring at their vacant chair
Adds more pain and misery.

Think about their life in Heaven
Where the roses never fade
No more pain and no more sorrow
In the mansion Jesus made.

This will help to ease your pain
And will lessen tears that fall
And greater comfort you'll receive
When on the Saviour's Name you call.

God's Waiting Room

Have you ever felt
that God must have
a waiting room for prayer?

Do you feel sometimes
as you wait in vain,
your prayers He does not hear?

Have you ever thought
"I'm not worthy,
a sinner such as I"?

But have faith my friend
God loves you so,
He will answer by and by.

If His answers not
the one you choose
And you end up feeling blue.

One day you'll realize
"God's Waiting Room"
was the perfect place for you.

When That Chariot Takes Me Home

When that chariot takes me home
to the mansion Jesus made,
I won't have to buy a ticket
for the price my Saviour paid.

I will leave my friends behind
and I hope they all will say,
they will miss the happy smile
that I wore most everyday.

I might weep as I am leaving
but happy tears are what I'll see,
I'll be going to meet my Saviour
and loved ones who wait for me.

~ Silent Walk ~

I went on a silent walk with the class and, while walking, I heard a lot of different sounds. In the woods, the sticks under my feet crackled like a fire in a fireplace. The paths that were in the woods were like a huge gateway to exploration and opportunity. The thorns on the thornbushes poked me like the great sting of a bumblebee!!! The colors of the leaves on the trees were as beautiful and colorful as a rainbow. The large sticks that had fallen over on a stream were like huge bridges over a river. The sound of running water was as lovely as a newborn child. And, last, but not least, the songs from the birds were as beautiful as music from a musicbox!

My Super Mom

I think my mom is super
I could go from A to Z
And give you all the reasons
Why she means so much to me.

She cleaned and fed and clothed me
When I was just a tot.
And, when I was a baffling teen
She sure understood a lot.

Then, one by one, we kids left home
To start our families.
And, dad and mom were left alone
Just like it used to be.

My mother was a faithful wife
For almost 50 years.
Until last year God called dad home
And filled mom's eyes with tears.

But, she still smiles and carries on
Though a tear sometimes I see.
I'm sure glad that she's my mom
Cause she's "Super Mom" to me.

As I Say Goodbye

As I say goodbye to loved ones
And my tears of sorrow flow,
I will miss them so in this world
But they're happy now I know.

They are living in a mansion
Where no pain or grief abide.
And they walk on streets of gold
With our Saviour as their guide.

I will miss their loving faces
But I know one day I'll see;
All my loved ones will be waiting
At Heaven's gates to welcome me

When You Arrive In Heaven

When you arrive in Heaven

What a beautiful sight to view.

When you arrive at Heaven's gates

Your Saviour will be waiting for you.

He will welcome you with open arms,

No more pain or grief you'll see.

When you enter through those golden gates

Where you will live eternally.

HEAVEN'S DOOR

To strive for Heaven is our goal,
To enter through Heaven's door
Don't say I'll do it tomorrow
As You've done many times before.

If you wait cause you're not perfect,
Dear friend speed up the pace.
For you never will be perfect
And you'll surely lose the race.

God knows our every failure
But He loves us though we've sinned.
If we'll only follow Jesus,
The battle we can win.

He is in Heaven! He is alive!
He's prepared for us a place.
He's waiting for you to realize
That you are saved by grace.

Don't say, "I'll think about it,
I've other things to do."
Beyond that door our Saviour waits
And He's waiting just for you.

I REALLY DIDN'T KNOW

I can't do it by myself.
I can't go my way alone.
I need my Saviour with me.
I can't make it on my own.

I don't know how I made it
Before my Lord I met.
He's with me when I'm happy,
Or when I get upset.

I used to say, "Sure, I believe."
But I really didn't know
Accepting Christ my Saviour
Would make such blessings flow.

Oh, it isn't always easy.
Some things are hard to bear.
But, my Lord is always with me,
My burdens He will share.

Smell The Roses

Do your days seem too short,
Seems you never get done?
Does it seem that your life
Is all work and no fun?

Then, stop, smell the roses,
Look around and "take stock."
You can't enjoy life
When it's run by the clock.

Look around at the beauty
God created for you.
Then the proper perspective
Will come into view.

If you'll stop, smell the roses,
God will help you find your way.
Your life will look much brighter
When you begin another day.

GOD GAVE

God gave us a Heaven,

He gave us an earth.

But, do we realize

What all this is worth?

He gave us the sun

To warm up our day,

And, the moon and the stars

To show us the way.

The birds gentle singing

At the breaking of dawn,

Greet the squirrels and rabbits

That play on the lawn.

But, greater than these

He sent us His Son.

With Jesus our Saviour,

Our victory is won.

It's A Long Way To Heaven

It's a long way to Heaven

A long way to go.

A long way to Heaven

Such a rough and bumpy road.

Loved ones will be waiting

To welcome us inside.

What a great thing to happen,

Why, I could walk by Jesus' side.

A good life isn't easy,

Sometimes we are sad.

We feel as though we've lost

The only friend we ever had.

But, when we feel discouraged,

There is a place to go.

The Good Book says

We have a friend

And, from Him all blessings flow.

It's a long way to Heaven,

A long way to go.

A long way to Heaven,

Such a rough and bumpy road.

Loved ones will be waiting

To welcome us inside.

What a great thing to happen.

Why, I could walk by Jesus' side.

Now, good friends won't you join me

On that glory road?

I know it won't be easy,

We all have such heavy loads.

But, keep your eyes to Heaven

And Jesus in your heart,

And our reward will be forever

Lasting with our Lord.

It's a long way to Heaven,

A long way to go.

A long way to Heaven,

Such a rough and bumpy road.

Loved ones will be waiting

To welcome us inside.

What a great thing to happen,

Why, I could walk by Jesus' side.

Had The Best

I had the best of mothers
She meant the world to me
And though she's now in Heaven
Her vision I still see.

She is playing the piano
Where we spent so many hours
Writing songs about our Saviour
Or God's world of trees and flowers.

We sang old songs or hymns
And we even wrote our own.
She not only was my mother
But the best friend ever known.

I can picture her now sitting
At a gorgeous baby grand
Playing our songs for Jesus
Accompanied by an angel band.

The Leaves are gently falling
bringing messages so clear.
Winter is on its way,
frost and snow will soon be here.

Every season has such beauty,
God has given us so much.
Spring, summer, fall and winter
all display the Masters touch.

Someday we'll see more beauty,
peace and love beyond compare;
when God calls us home to Heaven
and our Saviour meets us there.

God will move that mountain
into the sea;
When we kneel before Him in
humbleness and humility.

God will hear our prayers
and the answers will come;
When our own selfish desires
are no longer welcome.

Only then will we hear from
our Father above;
When the heart is made pure
and filled with His love!

He is a loving God who wants
to fill our lives with His perfect
peace;
When we open up our hearts to
Him, from all of our anxiety
He will bring release!

Holy Spirit flow through me,
that I may know my Lord intimately;
Hold me in your warm embrace,
Show me His mercy and His grace.

Help me to understand His ways;
While I offer to Him my worship and praise.
Search my heart and if there be,
any sin found there, please remove
it that I may fly free.

To be like Jesus is my greatest desire,
Wash and cleanse me with your
precious holy fire.
Guard my tongue in all that I say;

Let the words that I speak be
yours I pray.
Help me to be all that He'd have me be;
That I might be worthy of His love for me!

To Him my heart and all of me I bring,
I know I'll find shelter beneath His wings.
As the butterfly seeks pollen
from the sweetest flower.
Help me seek His presence
every moment of every hour.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

~God's Invisible Hands~

God's loving hands are holding me
Through many trials His hand I see.
No, we cannot touch His scarred hand,
But how He holds us again and again.

His lovely hands were scarred for me
I'll praise Him throughout eternity.
The hand of God wraps me so tight,
He holds me gently day and night.

It does not matter what the trial
He always understands the pain,
He reaches down to dry the tears,
And gently whispers, do not fear.

The beautiful hands of our God
Lifts us up and calms our fears,
There is healing in our Lord's hands,
Feel Him, He is with you till the end
Scripture God's Word"

I will not forget you! See, I have engraved
you on the palms of my hands.
Isaiah 49:15b-16

He sets a seal on the hand of every man,
that all right men may come to a knowledge
of His creative work. Job 37:7

You will make known to me the path of life;
Fulness of Happiness is in Your presence;
Pleasures are in Your right hand forever.
Psalm 16:11

~God's Invisible Hands~

God's gentle hands are oh so warm they
reach out to you and me. We feel so
safe in God's invisible hands. No we
cannot touch them but how we feel them
at times so close. I do believe when
God looks upon His hands He do see
us His creation. When we see God's
hands we are reminded of the pain He
bore at Calvary ...He bore it all in love
and He says I would do it again.
Oh, what a Mighty God we serve. God
will never forsake His own...His eyes are
forever watching from His throne. He has
made known to us the path of life and in
His presence there is fullness of joy. We
are not just His creation we are engraved
upon His palms for all eternity. He is
the first and last and for evermore!!

Blessed are the Mothers who love God, for their children shall
not be ignorant of their Creator and His plans concerning them.

Blessed are the Mothers who love the word of God, for their
children shall know of the way, the truth and the life.

Blessed are the Mothers who love the house of God, for their
children shall enter there and sit with them in the presence of God.

Blessed are the Mothers who love to pray, for their children
shall feel the power of prayer and many shall find salvation.

Blessed are the Mothers who love to give to the cause of Christ,
for their children shall become tithers and supporters of the Kingdom of God.

Blessed are the Mothers who love the family altar, for they
shall have their reward in this world and in the world to come.

Blessed are the Mothers who love to speak kind words to their
neighbor's children, for thereby they shall win
other boys and girls besides their own to Jesus Christ.

Blessed are the Mothers who love to be companions to their
children, for they shall be called understanding Mothers.

Blessed are the Mothers who love to fight life's battles
bravely with a strong and steadfast faith in God, for their
children shall know where to find strength in time of need.

Blessed are the Mothers who, when they are old and gray,
can look back upon memory's wall with no regret and can say,
"I brought my children up in the fear of the Lord."
Theirs are the mansions in glory.

The will of God will never take you:

Where the grace of God cannot keep you.
Where the arms of God cannot support you,
Where the riches of God cannot supply your needs,
Where the power of God cannot endow you.

The will of God will never take you:

Where the spirit of God cannot work through you,
Where the wisdom of God cannot teach you,
Where the army of God cannot protect you,
Where the hands of God cannot mold you.

The will of God will never take you:

Where the love of God cannot enfold you,
Where the mercies of God cannot sustain you,
Where the peace of God cannot calm your fears,
Where the authority of God cannot overrule for you.

The will of God will never take you:

Where the comfort of God cannot dry your tears,
Where the Word of God cannot feed you,
Where the miracles of God cannot be done for you,
Where the omnipresence of God cannot find you.

Have you ever seen a rainbow in the sky?
And after looking at it, you wondered why...
Why was it there, what was the story behind the rainbow?
I looked in the Bible to find out, because I needed to know.

It didn't take long to find it, it was there in the first book
Chapter seven is where you have to look,
It told a story about a man who built an ark a long time ago,
His name was Noah, people thought he was crazy--they just didn't know.

He had a word from God spoken directly to him,
Noah had never seen it rain, bet he couldn't even swim!
But he did just like the Lord commanded him to do,
He knew He would lead him through it, His word always holds true.

Noah took down the measurements one by one,
He knew what he had to do to get the job done.
He told his wife, sons and daughters-in-law,
"Get ready, God's going to send us flood water like we never saw!"

He got all those animals ready like the Lord told him to do,
What a sight watching them enter that ark two by two.
As soon as God's hand shut the door,
It started to rain like never before.

It rained for forty days and nights,
Nothing but rain, no sunshine in sight.
And it came to pass at the end of the forty days,
Noah opened the window of the ark that he had made.

He sent forth a dove to try and find dry land,
But the dove came back and landed on his outstretched hand.
He sent the dove out for a second chance,
This time it came back with an olive branch.

The last time Noah sent the dove out, something happened that was sweet,
She found rest for the soles of her feet.
This told Noah the water was gone, their wait had finally come to an end,
That's when the Lord promised this would never happen again.

The Lord made a coventant with Noah and every living creature that day,
As a token of the covenant, He said He would send a rainbow our way.
That's why the Lord put a rainbow in the sky.
So if you've ever wondered.......NOW YOU KNOW WHY!!

YOU WERE A RAINBOW IN EVERYONES LIFE..WE LOVE YOU...

This is the beginning of a new day.

God has given me this day to use as I will.

I can waste it....or use it for good,

But what I do today is important,

Because I am exchanging a day of my life for it.

When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever,

Leaving in it's place something that I have traded for it.

I want it to be gain, and not loss,

Good and not evil,

Success and not failure,

In order that I shall not regret the price I have paid for it.

GOD MOVES IN A MYSTERIOUS WAY

God moves in a mysterious way
His wonders to perform:
He plants His footsteps in the sea,
And rides upon the storm.

Deep in unfathomable mines
With never failing skill,
He treasures up His bright designs
And works his sovereign will.

Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take;
The clouds ye so much dread
Are big with mercy, and shall break
In blessings on your head.

Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
But trust him for His Grace;
Behind a frowning providence
He hides a smiling face.

His purposes will ripen fast,
Unfolding every hour:
The bud may have a bitter taste,
But sweet will be the flower.

Blind unbelief is sure to err,
And scan His work in vain;
God is His own interpreter,
And He will make it plain.

YOU WILL BE FOREVER MISSED JIMMY

The White Rose

Every Mothers day my grandmother picked a white rose from her flower garden for me to wear to church. I hated Mothers Day and white roses. I wanted to wear a red rose. I would pout and put up a fuss asking why I couldn’t wear a red rose. We went through the same ritual each year.

"You have to wear a white rose when your mother is dead, it’s tradition and your poor mother is dead." my grandmother would say.

" But you’re my mother now, I’d say, so I should be able to wear a red one."

" No child, you just don’t understand, I am still just your grandmother."

With that she pinned the white rose on my lapel and sent me on my way. My grandmother didn’t go to church because we had a steep hill to climb and she just couldn’t make it. We didn’t have a car, in fact there were very few people in our town who did and they walked to church because gasoline was rationed.

There was a creek between our house and the church, just before the hill. One Mothers day I took my rose off and threw it in the creek and watched it float out of sight.

Of course, when I got to church, everyone there knew me and some asked where my rose was. Standing right there in church, I lied, saying with down cast eyes, " I lost it."

After the death of my grandmother when I was fifteen, my beautiful aunt who had shared the responsibility of raising me with my grandmother, since I was ten, had the job all alone.

I loved my grandmother with all my heart but what I felt for my aunt was adoration to the point of worship.

My grandmother died in March. The following Mothers Day, I picked the deepest red rose I could find and wore it. When my aunt saw it, she asked why I was wearing a red rose. I said what I had said to my grandmother all those years, " Because you are my mother now."

Tears welled in her eyes and she said, "If that’s the way you feel, Babe, then by all means wear it because I feel the same way." We both had a good cry.

My aunt didn’t have any children. She had a little boy that died when he was three years old and she never had anymore, except for me.

I think the only disagreement I ever had with my grandmother was over the white rose.

I feel, and I guess I always have, that you don’t have to give birth to a child to be its mother.

God was very good to me. He gave me two of the best.

I no longer hate white roses. I think all of Gods creations are beautiful.

A golden memory from childhood.

THE SHADOW OF YOUR WINGS

When skies are dark and trouble rains

My heart with joy stills sings

For there’s a refuge from life’s storms

Under the shadow of Your wings.

How precious is Your love O God!

How precious, Your thoughts of me!

Thank You for Your love O God,

For lasting peace and security.

Under the shadow of Your wings

I am secure from all harm.

Under the shadow of Your wings

I’m held safely in Your arms.

I will praise Your name forever

Of Your great love I will sing,

Thank You Lord for holding me

Under the shadow of Your wings.

I'm so thankful Lord to be

Under the shadow of Your wings.

What Granny Would Say

I had a very hectic day today

Seems nothing I did went my way.

I fretted and stewed and worried,

Rushed here and there, always hurried.

Then I recalled what my granny would say,

"This too, my dear, will pass away."

~~~~~~~~~~
Finally evening came and I was alone
With a little time to call my own.
I breathed a sigh into the air,
For now it seemed I hadn’t a care.
But in my memory, I heard granny say,
"This too, my dear, will pass away."
~~~~~~~~~~

So, I snuggled in for a good nights rest,

Vowing tomorrow just to do my best,

For when troubles come they never stay,

And good times seem to hurry away,

Granny was right when she would say,

"This too, my dear, will pass away."

~~~~~~~~~~
Enjoy the good times while they’re here
And face the bad times without fear
For nothing on earth lasts forever
Each moment of life we must savor.
Live life and love while you may,
For this too, my dear, will pass away.
THE HEAVENS DECLARE
Some people never look and see
The miracles in the sky,
The magnificence of a sunrise
Or fleecy clouds drifting by.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
They miss the glory of a sunset,
The lovely rainbow hues
And what could have more splendor
Than a starry night to view.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
The heavens declare the glory of God,
And I thank you Lord for eyes to see
All the beauty and the wonder
You placed in the sky for me.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
I stand in awe of your presence
As I gaze at the marvels you display
For no human hand could ever form
Such a grand and glorious array.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
No artist’s brush could ever paint
All the beauty that I see.
No poet’s words could ever describe
What that beauty means to me.
Remembering Mother
So often I’ve thought to write a poem for you
But the words just never would come through.
How do I thank you with words of emotion
For a lifetime of love and devotion?
+ + + + +
Bouquets of roses tied with ribbons of blue
Could never express the love I have for you.
And no money on earth, nor silver nor gold
Could pay for the sweet memories of you I hold.
+ + + + +
You taught me how to give and share
And how to kneel in humble prayer.
You gave me the values I hold today
And there’s nothing I can ever do to repay,
+ + + + +
For the precious gift of your motherly love,
Except to live a life you would be proud of.
And so I kneel in humble devotion
With praise to Him who set our lives in motion,
+ + + + +
And give thanks to God, our loving Father
For the gift of you, my dearest mother.
And though you’re gone, you’re in my heart to stay,
Remembered and loved each and every day.
GOD PAINTS HIS PICTURES
From season to season
And from sea to sea
God paints on His canvas
For all to see.
In the flowers of spring
And winters first snow,
God paints His pictures
Wherever we go.
From the birds and the trees
To lofty mountain peaks,
Mighty ocean waves,
Babbling brooks and creeks.
On the wings of a butterfly,
Oh, see how the paint runs,
See His brilliant colors
From morning light to setting sun.
Look around and you'll see
The work of His hand
Painting His pictures
Throughout the land.
In the laughter of children,
The stars up above
And dew on the rose,
God paints His pictures with love.
MOTHERS COMBS
I have an old chest of my mothers
Filled with something for which I care.
Placed there inside, neatly in rows
Are the combs mother wore in her hair.
Some are inlaid with gold, some with gems
And some are plain, for everyday wear.
There also, tied with a ribbon of blue,
Is a lock of her Sable Brown hair.
How often I sat and watched as she brushed,
Then fashioned the strands in a braid.
How I marveled as she combed and pinned
And the fancy hair-dos that she made.
Then she placed the combs just rightly so
That they would surely be seen,
All around her head like a halo
Enhancing her hairs silken sheen.
How I love to look at those combs
And stroke the lock of her hair,
Remembering days long gone by
When she was so young and fair.
How I cherish that old worn out chest,
The combs and the lock of her hair.
Each hold in my heart sweet memories,
A treasure far beyond compare.
For she’s gone to be with Jesus now,
And instead of combs for her to wear
Her head is graced with a golden crown,
There's no need for combs in her hair.
So, I place them gently in the chest
Along with the lock of her hair,
And brush a tear drop from my cheek,
Knowing someday I'll meet her there.
Please Don’t Send Me Flowers
Please don’t send me flowers
For they only wither and die.
Leave them to grace a garden
To be touched by a butterfly.
They are lovely on my table
But only for a day
And it breaks my heart to see
The petals die and fall away.
Please leave them in the garden
For all who wander by
To inhale the lovely fragrance
And bring beauty to their eyes.
Please don't send me flowers
For I love them so, you see.
They don't belong on my table
It's in a garden they should be.
REJOICE IN THE LORD
Inspired by Philippians 4:4-7
Rejoice in the Lord always,
Do not worry about tomorrow.
Go to God in humble prayer
And give Him all your sorrows.
Rejoice and let your needs be known
For God is faithful, just and kind,
And His peace that surpasses understanding
Will guard your heart and mind.
Rejoice in your laughter,
Rejoice in your tears,
For in your rejoicing
Comes strength for your fears.
Rejoice in the Lord always,
His loving kindness we can’t measure.
Rejoice and be thankful for His love
You'll have no greater treasure.
You see me with gossamer wings
Dressed in robes of purest white,
Glistening like gold
With a heavenly light.
You see me as a child
With innocence sweet,
Laughing, dancing, singing
Around the throne; at Jesus’ feet.
You see me in a friend
Who is tried and true
And you know I was sent
Down to earth for you.
I am none of these,
And yet I am all.
I am spirit, I am essence,
Sent to answer your call.
I feel the beat of your heart,
I hear the pleas of your soul,
And softly whisper wisdom
So you may reach your goal.
You hear my whisper
So soft and sweet in your ear
And you know all is well,
There’s nothing to fear.
For I’m always by your side.
I look upon all your ways,
I am here for guidance
When your lonely heart strays.
I guide your footsteps
That you may not stumble
And you may know me only,
When your heart is humble.
I’m your guardian angel
Sent from our Father above
To guide your heart and soul
To His eternal love.
So when you feel my presence,
Know the work that I do
Is simply because, of the love
Our Father has for you.
THE GLORY OF GOD
My eyes are filled with the glory of God
When Christ on the cross I see
And I think how He left His heavenly home
To die on that cross for me
.
My ears are filled with the glory of God
When I think of His Holy word,
how in the stillness after prayer
His gentle voice is heard.
My heart is filled with the glory of God
When I think of His love that lives there
And I feel all around me the presence,
Of His great love everywhere.
My days are filled with the glory of God
When I ask Jesus to guide my ways
And I know that He ever is with me,
To God be the glory and praise.
My nights are filled with the glory of God
When I think of the peace that He gives,
To rest in the quiet assurance,
That within my heart He lives.
The world is filled with the glory of God
But no words can truly proclaim.
The measure of His love and mercy
Or the beauty of His Holy Name.
WHEN HE CALLS YOUR NAME
Traveling on life’s weary road
There walked a man with a heavy load.
Up and down the shores of Galilee,
From Bethlehem’s crib to Calvary.
He bore that load for you and me.
What will I say when He calls my name?
Will I turn and hide my face in shame?
And I might ask the same of you;
Will He look and say; "You I never knew.
You never listened to my words so true.
For you I suffered all your pain.
For you I gave my life in vain;
One simple thing is all I sought,
That you accept the message that I taught.
But alas; I see it was for naught."
Oh, how our souls will cry in pain
For we’ll never have the chance again,
To live with the angels on every hand
And walk with Jesus in the Promised Land.
So listen now, and obey His commands.
Then on the day He calls your name,
You’ll not hear Him say; "I died in vain."
But with a voice so gentle and mild
He’ll say; "Welcome home my faithful child,
Your name, in the book of life I’ve filed."
HIS LIGHT
I saw a light, a radiant light,
as it came to rest in the darkest night
and the nighttime of my soul did flee,
when he gave His wondrous light to me.
Father may my light so shine
that all will know I am thine
and may it spread so very wide
the darkness will have no place to hide
and all the world will brightness be,
with the light that comes from thee.
I dreamed I was in heaven
Where an angel kept God's book.
He was writing so intently
I just had to take a look.
It was not, at first, his writing
That made me stop and think
But the fluid in the bottle
That was marked eternal ink.
This ink was most amazing,
Dark black upon his blotter
But as it touched the parchment
It became as clear as water.
The angel kept on writing,
But as quickly as a wink
The words were disappearing
With that strange eternal ink.
The angel took no notice,
But kept writing on and on.
He turned each page and filled it
Till all its space was gone.
I thought he wrote to no avail,
His efforts were so vain
For he wrote a thousand pages
That he'd never read again.
And as I watched and wondered that
This awesome sight was mine,
I actually saw a word stay black
As it dried upon the line.
The angel wrote and I thought I saw
A look of satisfaction.
At last he had some print to show,
For all his earnest action.
A line or two dried dark and stayed
As black as black can be,
But strangely the next paragraph
Became invisible to see.
The book was getting fuller,
The angel's records true,
But most of it was blank, with
Just a few words coming through.
I knew there was some reason,
But as hard as I could think,
I couldn't grasp the significance
Of that eternal ink.
The mystery burned within me,
And I finally dared to ask
The angel to explain to me
Of his amazing task.
And what I heard was frightful
As the angel turned his head.
He looked directly at me,
And this is what he said...
I know you stand and wonder
At what my writing's worth
But God has told me to record
The lives of those on earth.
The book that I am filling
Is an accurate account
Of every word and action
And to what they do amount.
And since you have been watching
I must tell you what is true;
The details of my journal
Are the strict accounts of YOU.
The Lord asked me to watch you
As each day you worked and played.
I saw you as you went to church,
I saw you as you prayed.
But I was told to document
Your life through all the week.
I wrote when you were proud and bold,
I wrote when you were meek.
I recorded all your attitudes
Whether they were good or bad.
I was sorry that I had to write
The things that make God sad.
So now I'll tell the wonder
Of this eternal ink,
For the reason for its mystery
Should make you stop and think.
This ink that God created
To help me keep my journal
Will only keep a record of
Things that are eternal.
So much of life is wasted
On things that matter not
So instead of my erasing,
Smudging ink and ugly blot.
I just keep writing faithfully and
Let the ink do all the rest
For it is able to decide
What's useless and what's best.
And God ordained that as I write
Of all you do and say
Your deeds that count for nothing
Will just disappear away.
When books are opened someday,
As sure as heaven is true;
The Lord's eternal ink will tell
What mattered most to you.
If you just lived to please yourself
The pages will be bare,
And God will issue no reward
For you when you get there.
In fact, you'll be embarrassed,
You will hang your head in shame
Because you did not give yourself
In love to Jesus' Name.
Yet maybe there will be a few
Recorded lines that stayed
That showed the times you truly cared,
Sincerely loved and prayed.
But you will always wonder
As you enter heaven's door
How much more glad you would have been
If only you'd done more.
For I record as God sees,
I don't stop to even think
Because the truth is written
With God's eternal ink.
When I heard the angel's story
I fell down and wept and cried
For as yet I still was dreaming
I hadn't really died.
And I said: O angel tell the Lord
That soon as I awake
I'll live my life for Jesus-
I'll do all for His dear sake.
I'll give in full surrender;
I'll do all He wants me to;
I'll turn my back on self and sin
And whatever isn't true.
And though the way seems long and rough
I promise to endure.
I'm determined to pursue the things
That are holy, clean and pure.
With Jesus as my helper,
I will win lost souls to Thee,
For I know that they will live
With Christ For all eternity & that's
What really matters When my life
On earth is gone That I will stand
Before the Lord & hear Him say,
Well Done.
Missing You
I just can't believe it
The sun still sets and rises.
The moon and stars still shine.
The flowers still bloom,
The birds still sing.
I expected a change in everything...
I just can't believe it.
It still gets dark and light.
The ocean still has waves,
The rain still rains,
The wind still blows.
Is it because they do not know?
I just can't believe it.
I thought the world would stop,
When in my house I found
An empty chair,
A missing smile.
I thought it would stop
For just a while.
I just can't believe it....
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
ON THE WINGS OF LOVE
From the South Pacific there came to me a sample of what heaven can be. Come forth you earth-bound Angel, spread your wings and fly with me. For it is in heaven you need to be and in heaven you need to remain. So spread you wings and fly, fly, fly with me.
Come to me my sweet Angel let me show you the secrets of your heart. Come discover with me the desires of your heart so that you will know that they are genuine. That is what he said to me with a voice so soft that my resistance's vanished.
New territory was discovered new courses were charted as his soft voice lifted me higher and higher. Melodious harmony filled the air with its words of rapture and liberation.
His touch was gentle as he took me by the hand and led me to the Promised Land.
And on that day answers to questions of a lifetime came to me. I no longer felt bound to this world, but had discovered a freedom to fly to express my feelings completely. And having sampled heaven I can only imagine what Paradise is like. This is what I found ON THE WINGS OF LOVE.
O Lord,
Make me an instrument of your Peace.
Where there is hatred,
let me sow Love;
Where there is injury,
Pardon.
Where there is discord,
Unity.
Where there is doubt,
Faith.
Where there is error,
Truth.
Where there is despair,
Hope.
Where there is sadness,
Joy.
Where there is darkness,
Light;
O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled,
as to console,
to be understood,
as to understand;
to be loved,
as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning, that we are pardoned,
it is in dying, that we are born to Eternal Life.
Never Gone
An old star faded,
a new one shines bright.
A day of joy and sorrow,
has now blended into night.
Tears have formed,
then were blnked away,
as stories were remembered,
from a distant day.
Tears will form,
then be blinked away,
as new memories are made,
to remember another day.
Birth and death, one a begining,
the other not really an end,
for a soul that is started,
lives forever my friend.
So when a memory is awakened,
whether it evokes a smile or tear,
know that someone's spirit,
is hovering very near.
Death is a journey to another road. We live our lives then we make a right or a left onto the road of greener and brighter pastures. There is no need to ask for directions. You know when you are there as it is beautiful and all of your friends and relatives are awaiting you."
Our loved ones are always with you even after they pass...pay attention and you will feel their presence. If you think they are with you...they are."Our body is a mere shell...we remain alive forever. Our loved ones are always there for us...share, talk to them and listen to your intuition when you think they are communicating with you."
Though it hurts to lose a loved one, it is most painful to grieve for what you didn't get to enjoy with them. Rather, remember the blessings they left behind, with so many wonderful memories. Treasure their essence, for it is still here with you."
Losing a loved one is hard, but it's knowing that god gained an angel that makes the grief easier."
It is okay to grieve, it is a natural process...it is when we allow the grief to take us over that we are defeated. Grieve, but continue moving forward!"
There is a difference between letting them go, and forgetting them. Letting them go, means accepting they are gone, but knowing they will always have a place in your heart. Forgetting them means to forget all the memories, the good times, and the bad times. So, don't forget them, just let them go."
"A broken heart is a blessing in disguise; it reminds us of how perfect God's love is and how imperfect we are. In the midst of the pain and despair we are somehow renewed in the promise that we have been loved the whole time, and will continue to be loved for eternity. And your heart again, begins to heal, until the next time we forget. It's the cracks in our heart that make room for God's promises to sink in."
Remember that when a loved one passes away, it's because God can no longer bear to be apart from then."
