Edna Street Obituary

Mrs. Edna Hicks Street, "Mame," a long-time resident of 424 S. Dunlop St., Peters­burg, Va., born April 26, 1925, entered eternal rest on Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, at Golden Living Center (formerly Walnut Hill Nursing Home), Petersburg, Va.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roosevelt Street; sons, Carlton L. and Odel A. Street; her parents, John and Mary Lee Hicks; grandmother, Viola Roberts; father-in-law, John R. Street Sr., mother-in-law, Alease Harper Street; step-mother-in-law, Dorothy Street; brother-in-law, John L. Street; daughter-in-law, Ginger Street and cousin, John W. Roberts.

She leaves to treasure her memory, daughter, Arvilla G. Reid (Randolph Jr.) of Petersburg; sons, Alfread Street of Petersburg, Va.; Davie Street (Beverly) of Las Vegas, Nev.; Anthony Street (Edith Claiborne) of Petersburg, Va.; Timothy Street (Veronica) of Baltimore, Md.; aunt, Carrie Knight of Buffalo, N.Y.; grandchildren, Keith, Ricky, Daphne and Kim Reid, Tamilia Brown (Steven), Alfread Jr., Damion and Alicia Wyche, Taiga Luckett, Samoan Street, Syrette Street, Odel Street Jr., Anthony, Fonta and Quanta Gholson, Nitika Street, David, Timothy and Montez Walker, Jaucoby Street, Salena Banks; step-grandchildren, Ester Ruffin-Bradford (James), Montique Baugh-Ennis (Danovan), James Baugh (Lisa), Kevin Claiborne, Shanika Epps (Wayne), Candace and Clifton Raigns; and a host of great-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends, among them Virginia Eppes-Shaw, Lena, Tony, Gary and Lisa Hobbs.

Special thanks go to the staff of Golden Living Center and Asera-Care Hospice.

A funeral service will be held at noon, Friday, Nov. 14, 2008 at the chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Ave., Petersburg, Va., with Brother Ricky Bailey of Church of Christ, High Street, Petersburg, officiating. Interment will follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the following residences, 501 S. Dunlop St., Petersburg, VA., (804) 732-7095 and 120 St. Mark St., Petersburg, VA., (804) 712-4175.
