Thomas Johnson Obituary

Mr. Thomas Linwood Johnson, affectionately known to his family and friends as "Tommy" or "Knot Hole," 52, of 8810 Colemans Lake Road, Ford, Va., entered into eternal rest and peace on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, at the Chippenham Hospital.

He was a native of Dinwiddie County and was the son of the late Richard (Sunny) Johnson and Irene Hill Johnson. At an early age, he joined the Mount Poole Baptist Church, Ford.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Otis Crawley, Shirley Gee, and Mable Taylor.

He leaves to cherish his memories, one daughter, Catina Prosise of Petersburg; one son, Treyvon Q. Johnson of Ford; four sisters, Maude Coleman of Church Road, Irene Coleman (Thaddeous), Catherine Frazier (Walter) and Rachel Taylor, with whom he resided, all of Ford; three brothers, John Johnson, Richard Johnson (Jeneva), Samuel Johnson (Shelia), all of Ford; two brothers-in-law, Andrew Gee of Ford and Ernest Taylor of Petersburg, 12 nieces; 21 nephews; numerous cousins, one devoted Walter Hill of Ford; other relatives and friends to include a devoted friend, Robert Dean of Ford, and caregiver Bertha Reese of Ford.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008, at the Mount Poole Baptist Church, Ford, with the pastor, the Rev. Stephen Pugh, officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Public viewing will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
