Hattie Nimmo Obituary

Hattie Virginia "Sissy" Murdock Nimmo, 87, of Petersburg, passed away Friday, Nov. 21, 2008.

Born in Chesterfield County, she was the daughter of the late Ashby Guy and Viola Butler Murdock. She was a member and former organist at Believers Christian Fellowship in Ford, Va.

Mrs. Nimmo was preceded in death by a daughter, Viola Lynne Nimmo; great-grandson, Jeremiah; three brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Curtis O. Nimmo; children, Brenda N. Jarratt of Chesterfield, Gary O. Nimmo and wife, Alice, of Matoaca and Charlette N. Ridout and husband, Ronnie, of Chester; grandchildren, John C. Jarratt, Malinda S. Nimmo, Cathy L. Hunnel, Gary W. Nimmo, Jessica L. Ridout, Matthew W. Ridout and Ashley N. Ridout; great-grandchildren, Justin, Taylor, Kaylin, Abby, and Kai; and a brother, the Rev. Guy W. Murdock of Colonial Heights.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Guy Murdock officiating. Interment will follow at Blandford Cemetery.
