James Slaughter Obituary
He was the son of the late John Lee and Mary Fitts Slaughter. Jim was an avid hunter and belonged to the Sapony Creek Hunt Club.
He is survived by his wife, Grace B. Slaughter; a son, John Slaughter and wife, Edwina; two grandchildren, Daniel and Amber Slaughter; three brothers, William, John and Charlie Slaughter; two sisters, Helen Martin and Jean Henson.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, at Asbury United Methodist Cemetery, McKenney with the Rev. Donald Joyner officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
