Edward L. Hunt

Mr. Edward Lee Hunt, age 69, of 9108 Golf Course Road, Disputanta, departed this life Monday, Dec. 8, 2008, at his residence.

He was born March 17, 1939, to the late Wilma Jackson Hunt and Horace Hunt.

Edward was employed in Washington, D.C., and was a member of Union Baptist Church, Surry County. He loved to tell stories.

Mr. Hunt was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma Hunt; his father, Horace Hunt; a son, Tyrus Hunt; a sister, Sabryna Shamberger; and a brother, Raymond Hunt.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Ruth Hunt; a son, Robin Wardell Hunt (Benita); a daughter, Lisa Hunt (Ruben Moises); five brothers, Sherman Hunt and Ronnie Hunt, Horace Hunt Jr. (Ethel), Larry Hunt (Pat) and Frank Jackson (Belinda); three sisters, Zatella Taylor (Theophilus, very devoted), Val Reese (William) and Gina Hunt; eight grandchildren, Tyrus Cobbs of Washington, D.C., Kiawana Hunt, Briana Hunt, Eric Hunt, Derrick Hunt, Brelyn Hunt, Ra-ese Hunt, all of Maryland, and Rob Hunt of Atlanta.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, at the Chapel of William N. Bland and Son Funeral Home, Petersburg, with the Rev. William N. Bland Jr. officiating. The interment will be in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg. The family will assemble at the residence at 1:45 p.m. on the day of service.
