Jessie King Obituary

Mrs. Jessie Luster King, 95, of 7186 Coppahaunk Road, Waverly, departed this life Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, at her residence.

She was born Oct. 28, 1913, to the late Alexander and Clara Bailey Luster. She was educated in the Sussex County School System. Mrs. King was a member of Saint Paul Holiness Church, Waverly, where she served as past secretary of the Pastor Aide, and past secretary of the Missionary Department. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry King, and her son, William Nathaniel King.

Left to cherish her memories are five sons, Roger L. King (Paige), Lloyd H. King (Theresa), Willie E. King, Willis Harold King (Nancy), all of Waverly, and Patrick W. King (Alice) of Surry; a daughter, Helena King Langston of Waverly; two brothers, Orceal Luster of Waverly and Joseph Luster (Wanda) of Suffolk; 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at Liberty Baptist Church, 319 Railroad Ave., Waverly, with Elder Tyrone Warren officiating. Interment will be in the Waverly Cemetery. The family will assemble at the residence at noon the day of the service and may be contacted by calling (804) 834-2311.

Funeral services are entrusted to the staff of Peace-Bland Funeral Home, 237 Railroad Ave., Waverly; James I. Gay, funeral director.

Grandma-I know Grandaddy was smiling when you walked through those pearly gates....Your wisdom, love, and strength is to be honored. I know that you are truly walking the streets of GOLD and the annointing from your life is flourishing within the bloodlines of your children...Thank you for being a virtuous woman and woman of true character and loyalty.....Our family is blessed and we are rejoicing in your homegoing even through sadness.......Love you always.....Kristie
