Ricky Arrington Obituary

Mr. Ricky D. Arrington of 641 27th St., Newport News, Va., (formerly of West Petersburg), went to be with His Lord on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was the son of the late Joyce Arrington Brown.

He leaves the following to cherish his memory, one son, Levar D. Bland of Kent, Ohio; one grandchild, Aaliyah Bland of Hopewell, Va.; one brother, Wesley Nicholas (Melony) of Dallas, Texas; two nephews, Wesley Malone (Kenette) and Anthony Nicholas; two great nephews, Deshahviee and Ahmari Malone; four uncles, Morris Arrington (Ruby), James Arrington (Patrella), June Arrington and Curtis Arrington (Kathrine); three aunts, Ester Smith, Susie Brite and Mary Arrington; one devoted cousin, Perry Waters; as well as a hosts of other cousins and friends, including Vera Monroe of Newport News.

A service of love and remembrance will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009 at the chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Ave., Petersburg, Va. with the Rev. Dr. Rudolph Dunbar, pastor of First Baptist Church of City Point, Hopewell, Va., officiating.
