Lucy Stell Obituary

Lucy Halloway Stell, age 75, of Chesterfield, Va., passed away on Friday, Feb. 20, 2009.

She was born in Petersburg, Va., the daughter of the late James E. and Evelyn Jeffers Halloway. Mrs. Stell was also preceded in death by her brother, Paul Halloway.

She was a life long member and former Sunday school teacher at Calvary Baptist Church, Colonial Heights, Va. Mrs. Stell worked for approximately 42 years at Allied Signal before retiring. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who always put her families' needs first.

Mrs. Stell is survived by her children, Philip Stell and wife, Susan of Odessa, Texas, Lawrence Stell of Disputanta, Va., and Kathryn Schoening and husband, Warren of Chesterfield, Va.; a daughter-in-law, Bobbie Gale Bonds of Prince George, Va.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many friends.

The family will receive friends at the Chesterfield chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home on Tuesday, at 2 p.m., with interment in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester.
