James Loewen Obituary

James A. Loewen, 63, of Church Road, Va., passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, at his residence.

He was the son of the late George J. and Jeanette Derreberry Loewen. Mr. Loewen retired from the United States Navy after serving his country for over 20 years; after retiring he worked as an environmental specialist for the government at Fort Lee, Va.

He is survived by a son, James Loewen Jr. and wife, Misty, of Knoxville, Tenn.; a daughter, Angela Loewen of Marion, Ky.; stepsons, John Loewen and wife, Amanda, of Marion, Ky., Anthony Loewen and wife, Crystal, of Brownsville, Texas, William Loewen of Charleston, S.C.; sisters, Kathy Bardon of Dubuque, Iowa, Marilee A. Kelley of Douglasville, Ga., Sue Rasmus and Kris Loewen of Phoenix; 18 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

The family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Funeral services will be private. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.
