Marian Robertson Obituary

Mrs. Marian Bell Tucker Robertson, of 11500 Centennial Road, Prince George, departed this life Sunday, June 14, 2009, in Kindred Hospital, Richmond. She was born Dec. 4, 1933, in New Rochelle, N.J., to the late Jack and Sarah Bell Tucker.

Mrs. Robertson was a Peabody High School class of 1951 graduate. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Harrison Street, where she served with the Ladies Usher's Ministry, the Missionary Ministry and the Food Service Ministry; she was also a member of The Benedictines Civic Club and Zeta Amigai.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Robertson was preceded in death by a devoted cousin, Thad Parham, and her husband of 52 years, Raymond E. Robertson Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memories: four sons, Raymond E. Robertson Jr. (Connie) of Colorado Springs, Colo., Rodney K. (Charlotte), Kirby B. and Erwin F. Robertson, all of Petersburg; two daughters, Wanda R. Hite (Gerald) of Petersburg, and Andrea R. Cuffee (Willie) of Prince George; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends, among them, a devoted friend, Deloris Wilson.

The remains of Mrs. Robertson may be viewed from 5 to 9 tonight, Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at Waverly Funeral Establishment, Waverly Chapel, 219 N. County Drive, and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2009, at Waverly Funeral Establishment, Petersburg Chapel, 356 S. Crater Road.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2009, from the Waverly Funeral Establishment, Petersburg location. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2009, from First Baptist Church, 236 Harrison St., Petersburg. Dr. Jeremiah Tillman, pastor, will officiate. The interment will follow in Dinwiddie Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Andrea R. and Willie Cuffee, 11500 Centennial Road, Prince George, or by calling (804) 541-8355 or (804) 732-4569. On the day of the service, the family will assemble 10 a.m. at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Wanda R. and Gerald Hite, 2503 Century Drive, Petersburg.

Services are being provided to the Robertson family by the staff and management of Waverly Funeral Establishment, the Rev. Jeffrey L. Dodson Sr., funeral director, (804) 834-1001 or (804) 732-2820.
