Jerry Hower Obituary

Jerry Wayne Hower, 62, of Dinwiddie County, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2009, at his residence.

Born in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Arthur Jefferson and Irene Vaughan Hower. Jerry retired from Allied Chemical after 38 years of service and was a member of Living Stone Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Hower; daughter, Melinda Hower and fiance, Bill Moore, of Littleton, N.C.; son, George Hower and wife, Monique. of Galloway, Ohio; grandchildren, James Mayton, Kailey Mayton and Austin Hower; brother, Dickie Hower and wife, Faye, of Church Road; nephew, Jamie Hower of Dinwiddie; and best friend, Robert Thacker.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Carl Weaver officiating. Interment will follow at Blandford Cemetery.
