Alfred G. Dance

Alfred Gilbert Dance went to be with the Lord on June 24, 2009, at John Randolph Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Ralph Alfred Dance and Rachel Gill Dance. He was born June 24, 1931, in Chesterfield County. He was a member of Woods United Methodist Church, where he taught the Men's Bible Class and sang in the choir. Mr. Dance was also a member of the Southern Chesterfield Ruritan Club and a Master Mason of Blandford Lodge #3. He also belonged to a hunt club where he enjoyed hunting with his friends.

Mr. Dance is survived by a sister, Laura D. Collier (N.M. Collier Jr.); a niece, Jennifer C. Brockwell (Ben); nephew, Nathaniel M. Collier III (Lu Ann); several great-nieces and nephews and cousins; also a special friend and caregiver, Mr. Harry "Pete" Voelker Jr. and his family.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2009, in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, with the Rev. Doug Gilfillan officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Bouelvard.
