Odyta B. Forstall

Odyta Bronder Forstall, 84, of Colonial Heights, passed away July 4, 2009.

She was born in Bycina, Poland, on Jan. 28, 1925, to the late Lwdwig Bronder and Viktoria Samol. After World War II, she settled in Heidelberg, Germany, where she met and married her husband, Harold Forstall, on Dec. 31, 1955, and she became a U.S. citizen, May 2, 1960. She traveled the world for many years due to Harold's military service, having lived in Germany, France and Korea, and visited many countries, such as Austria, Luxemburg, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Great Britain and Hawaii. She was also a member of the German Speaking Darmenklub in the Tri-Cities area.

Survivors include her husband, Harold Forstall; her brother, Herbert Bronder, who resides in Ergoldsbach, Germany; and many nieces and nephews, who also reside in Germany.

The husband requests flowers because she loved flowers. Funeral service will take place 7 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 2009, in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, with Father Kilumbu Kisuka officiating. Burial will take place in Arlington National Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009. The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
