In 1982, I had the privilege of spending my sixteenth summer vacation with Vera, Pop, and Jay Rusnak down on the farm in Colonial Heights, VA. Lisa Garland invited me and my sister, Martha to meet this family she was friends with and ride their horse, Lady. We went and ended up staying the entire summer with them. I believe Vera was working at the motel at the time. She would get home from work and play cards & Yahtzee with us kids at the kitchen table. She was a lot of fun and a free-spirited lady. We really loved her! She introduced me to Munster cheese, star fruit, the dishwasher, and the best homemade lasagne I've ever had! At the time, Vera was wearing her hair straight with bangs, colored brown, and not quite to her shoulders. I remember her sharing good memories of Pop in his better days, and the fun times they had.
I truly hope she had a happy and fulfilled life. She deserved it.
Love, Lisa McCullough

Dear Andy and Family:
You will not remember me, I was in school with you in Chester years ago and I have wondered what has happened to you through the years, as I have with many of our classmates. I have a photo of our class, Mrs. Farrar, third grade Harrowgate, and remember you being in other classes through the years.
I am sorry to hear of your loss, and send my condolences to you and your family.
May the memories of happier days carry you through this time of loss. God bless and comfort each of you.
Sincerely,
Cheryl Wilmoth Whittle, RN, ADS
