Robert Chinault Obituary

Robert James Chinault, 84, of Sutherland, died Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at Colonial Heights Health Care Center after fighting numerous illnesses.

He was born in Caroline County on Dec. 27, 1924. Mr. Chinault was retired from the State Highway Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert S. and Julia M. Gray Chinault, both of Caroline County, and his beloved wife of 57 years, Ellen "Viola" Chinault; two brothers and four sisters.

James was the oldest of 11 children. He is survived by two brothers and two sisters, Edith Wright and her husband James Calvin, Al Davis and his wife Shirley, Betty Bustamante and her husband Paz, and Carl Allen and his wife Dianna.

Friends and loved ones are welcome anytime from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. for open visitation on Friday, July 31, at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A graveside service will be conducted by the Rev. Robert Rowland III at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, at Southlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Smyrna Baptist Church, 18725 Carson Road, Dinwiddie, VA 23841. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.
