Debra Marshall Obituary

No more pain, no more sickness, nor sorrow, for the morning of my joy has come. Debra, the daughter of the late James and Irene Marshall, was called upon from time to eternity on Sunday morning, Aug. 2, 2009, at the Southside Regional Medical Center. She was born Oct. 26, 1956, in Sussex County Va.

She leaves to cherish her memories, siblings, very devoted, Jean Rives of Chesterfield, and Tryone Marshall (Jeschelle) of Stafford; four nieces, Latarsha (Marquis),Caitlin, Kiana and Kiera; two nephews, William and Carlton; three great-nieces, Takiera, Danaysha and Alexia; six aunts, Susie Mitchell and Eunice Ellison, both of Washington, D.C., Dorothy Marshall of California, India Robinson (Elijah) of Dinwiddie, Shirley Jones of Petersburg and Diane Flowers (Stith) of Ettrick; one uncle, Robert Marshall of Washington, D.C.; a host of devoted friends and relatives.

A homegoing service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, at the Petersburg Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home, 451 Halifax St., Petersburg, with the Rev. David L. Banks Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, Dinwiddie. The family will assemble at the residence, 128 S. Sycamore St., Petersburg, at 12:15 p.m. on the day of the service.

The family would like to acknowledge the care for the their love one from the staff at Health Care Solutions, VCU staff, SRMC staff and the Southside Annex.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Johnson Funeral Home, Petersburg.

To the Family of Debra "SnackCake" Marshall as I affectionally called her. I offer my deepest sympathy to you all. I will truly miss her we would spend countless hours talking about recipes and cooking shows and of course snacking on her favorite snack Lance peanut butter crackers and Code Red. I know in my heart she's resting with the Lord now and pain free. She was a good friend always had an ear to listen and an encouraging word. I pray that the peace of God be upon you all during your time of grief.

To the family of the late Debra Marshall, I know it is not easy but we all know her struggle is now over she is home with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Debbie will be missed but she is still looking down on us knowing no more sleepless nights, no more hospital and dialysis trips knowing she has been set free.
