Margaret Norwood Obituary

Margaret C. Norwood, of Hopewell, passed away on Monday, Aug. 3, 2009. She is preceded in death by her husband, Garland Norwood.

She is survived by her three sons, R. Calvin Norwood, Dwight Norwood, Kirby Norwood; three grandsons; two granddaughters; two sisters; and other family and friends.

Mrs. Norwood was a member of the Hopewell Women's Club, a member of the Eastern Star, and also the Nimble Thimble Quilting Club. She was a volunteer at John Randolph Hospital for numerous years and was a member of Woodlawn Presbyterian Church, where she attended for over 40 years. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 214 N. 6th Av.e, Hopewell, Va., where a service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, 2009. Interment to follow at SouthLawn Memorial Park.
