Alta Zak Obituary
ZAK
Alta Zak, 72, of Sparks, Nevada passed away Thursday November 27, 2008 at home surrounded by family and friends. She was born November 28, 1936 in Fortuna, California, daughter of John and Mary Archer.
Alta was married to Richard Zak who preceded her in death. She lived in Redding from 1960 through 2000 where she raised her family. She worked for The Shasta County Opportunity Center.
Surviving are two sons, Richard Zak also of Sparks, Nevada and Randy Zak of Redding, CA: two daughters, Micki Jefferson, of Sparks, Nevada and Lupe Hodges of Sacramento, CA; eight grandchildren and six great- grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Sparks, NV at the end of January. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Regina Sutton c/o The Villas 1900 E. Prater Way, Sparks, NV. The money is to be used to help the assisted living facility where Alta volunteered over 2000 hours.

Dear Mikki, Rick, Randy and family: I am so deeply saddened by your loss. Alta was, without a doubt, the most wonderful person I have ever met in my lifetime. She was friend, mother, confidant, co-conspirator and prankster all combined in one.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all. She will be truly missed by everyone who knew her. I am so very thankful she was a part of my life.
