Carl Vogt Obituary

Shohola, PA

Carl J. Vogt, 99, of Shohola, PA, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2008 at VNA Hospice of Monroe County, East Stroudsburg, PA.

He was the retired owner and operator of Vogt's Garage in Shohola, PA. He was a life member, oldest living member and past Chief of the Shohola Fire and Rescue in Shohola, PA; first Zoning Officer of Shohola Twp., PA, and member of the Shohola Railroad and Historical Society. Mr. Vogt was an avid hunter and ice-fisherman.

The son of the late Joseph and Gertrude Hipsman Vogt, he was born October 7, 1908 in Matamoras, PA. He was the widower of Evelyn Lindros Vogt.

Survivors include his son, Charles J. Vogt and his wife, Bonnie, of Bartonsville, PA; daughter, Joanne Karpinich and her husband, Leo of Flemington, NJ; eight grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Doris Mix.

A Memorial service will be held at St. Jacobi Lutheran Church, Shohola, PA on Sunday, June 22, at 3:30 p.m., with the Rev. Rolf A. Buchmann officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to the Shohola Fire & Rescue, PO Box 135, Shohola, PA 18301.

So sorry to hear of Carl's passing - I know you will miss him - Another of Shohola's staid citizens gone!
