Dennis Sugrue Obituary

Greenwood Lake, NY

Dennis J. Sugrue, a five-year area resident, was born in the Bronx on November 20, 1946 and passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. He was 61.

Dennis was a retired Lieutenant for the F.D.N.Y. Division 6 in the Bronx. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Vietnam War; a member of the Gaelic Society of Greenwood Lake; member of New York City Retired Firefighters of Orange County; member of Holy Rosary R.C. Church in Greenwood Lake; a member of the Association of Realtors and was a realtor for Prudential Rand Realty in Warwick. He was also a member of the National American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen M. Kelly Sugrue, at home; daughters, Catherine A. Casey of Greenwood Lake and Maureen Doyle of the Bronx, and four grandchildren: Caitlyn, Brenna, Patrick and John.

Visitation will be today, Saturday, June 21, from 7 to 9 p.m., and tomorrow, Sunday, June 22, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Ave., Monroe.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 23, at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary R.C. Church, 41 Windermere Ave., Greenwood Lake, with the Rev. Joseph Soysa officiating. Interment will follow in St. Stephen's Cemetery in Warwick.
