Mae Woodcock Obituary

Central Valley, NY

Mae E. Woodcock passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2008 at Campbell Hall Rehabilitation Center in Hamptonburgh, formerly having lived in Central Valley. She was 95.

Mae was born in Brooklyn on April 2, 1913 to the late William Vetter and Elizabeth Hohmann Vetter. She moved into this area almost 30 years ago with her husband, Claude, who predeceased her in 1987.

Mae worked as a comptometer operator all of her working years. When she retired, comptometers were replaced by computers. She always had a good head for figures and words, and managed to do the "Jumble" in the newspaper until very recently.

Mae leaves one daughter, Carole of Central Valley; two cousins, Harriet Kropp of Gardiner and Lois and Ed Foster of The Villages, FL. She has one nephew, Richard Ewen and his wife, Barbara of Long Island.

There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Cemetery of the Highlands in Highland Mills.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 28, at 11 a.m. at Central Valley United Methodist Church, 12 Smith Clove Rd., Central Valley, with the Rev. Emily B. Hall officiating.

Mae was a member of Central Valley United Methodist Church, and in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Central Valley United Methodist Church, 12 Smith Clove Road, Central Valley, NY 10917.

Funeral arrangements were made by Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Homes, www.ssqfuneralhome.com or 845-782-8185.
