Charles Hellman Obituary

Walden, NY

Charles R. Hellman of Walden, NY, a Retired Diesel Mechanic for Eastern Alloys in Maybrook and a 32-year resident of the area, died Friday, July 4, 2008 at home. He was 77. He was born February 14, 1931 in Sieburg, Germany.

Charles served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Shawangunk Reformed Church in Wallkill and the German American Club in Middletown.

He is survived by his wife, Elsbeth Hellman, at home; daughter, Margaret Giglio and husband, Joseph of Goshen; sister, Gretel Hellman of San Francisco, CA; nieces and nephews, and his beloved German Shepard, Rexie and cat, Gretchen.

Charles loved his wife, nature, animals, and life. Earth will not be the same without him.

Visitation will be Monday, July 7, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St., Walden, NY.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 8, at 11 a.m. at Shawangunk Reformed Church, Wallkill. Burial will be in Bruynswick Rural Cemetery in Wallkill, NY.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made the Shawangunk Reformed Church, Hoagerburgh Hill Rd., Wallkill, NY 12589 or the Walden Humane Society, PO Box 135, Walden, NY 12586.
