Matamoras, PA

Mr. Richard Donald "Huck" Masker of Matamoras, PA and a lifetime resident of Matamoras died Sunday, July 6, 2008 at home with his family by his side. He was 63.

He was born August 10, 1944 in Matamoras, PA, the son of the late Harmon and the late Mary Hoover Masker. He married Kathleen Conniff Masker 43 years ago on January 2, 1965 in Matamoras, PA. Huck worked as an Engineer for the Erie Rail Road which became Norfolk Southern.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge BPOE No. 645, Port Jervis, NY; a life member of the Matamoras Fire Department; a past member of the Stone Dock Hunting Club and a social member of the Roosa Fleming VFW Post #161 in Port Jervis. Huck enjoyed watching NASCAR races and was an Earnhart fan.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Masker at home; daughters, Stacey Kurtz & her husband, David, Amy Lazier and Dawn Masker & her companion, John Hiatt, all of Port Jervis; brothers, Harmon Masker of Matamoras, Walter Masker & his wife, Betty Lou of Matamoras and Henry Masker & his wife, Judy of Port Jervis; sister, Louise Alessandra of Matamoras; five grandchildren, Kristin, David & Brandi Kurtz, Jennifer Lazier & Haley Long; brothers-in-law, Stephen Conniff & his wife, Jo-Patricia of Weston, FL, Edward Conniff & his wife, Connie of Gloversville, NY and Noel T. Cady & his wife, Jean of Grafton, NH; several nieces and nephews who were special to him and his faithful companion his dog, Sparky.

He was predeceased by daughter, Tammy Lynn Masker; fathers-in-law, Raymond Conniff and William Fleuret; mother-in-law, Shirley Fleuret; sister-in-law, Dixie Masker and brother-in-law, Henry Alessandra.

Friends may call at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis on Wednesday, July 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Funeral services will be held private at the convenience of the family.

Cremation will be at H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg, PA.

Memorial contributions may be made to: Matamoras Fire Dept., PO Box 272, Matamoras, PA 18336.
