Michalina Boyd Obituary
Michalina Monaco Volkringer Boyd of Newburgh, NY, entered into rest on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, Newburgh, NY. She was 89.
Daughter of the late Gesidio and Barbara Fusco Monaco, she was born December 30, 1918 in Newburgh, NY. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph V. Volkringer and second husband, Anderson T. Boyd.
"Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who always provided a loving and caring home for her family."
She is survived by her loving children: Francis M. Volkringer and his wife, Ruth of Newburgh, Nicholas A. Volkringer and his wife, Roseann of New Windsor; grandchildren: Karen DeCrosta and her husband, Peter of Marlboro, Nicholas L. Volkringer and his wife, Maryanne of Southerbury, CT, and David M. Volkringer and his wife, Carol of Virginia Beach, VA; great-grandchildren: Jared DeCrosta, Michael and Samantha Volkringer; brother, Frank Monaco and his wife, Frances of Newburgh; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers: Joseph, John, Carmen, Nicholas, Fred and Thomas Monaco, and sisters, Margaret Intermesoli and Connie Burte.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 16, at Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh, NY. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Peggy's memory may be made to the Johnes Home, 11 Balmville Rd., Newburgh, NY 12550.
