Joan Martin Obituary

Port Jervis, NY

Mrs. Joan E. Martin of Port Jervis, NY, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Castle Point VA Hospital in Castle Point, NY. She was 70.

She was born March 2, 1938 in Hobart, NY, the daughter of the late Richard J. and Phyllis Emma Blake Kirk. She was married to the late Harold Martin who passed away 32 years ago.

She was retired from Gillinder Brother Glass Co., in Port Jervis. She proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Tri-State Naval Ship Ladies Auxiliary #7241 in Port Jervis.

A family statement reads: "She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed by all. The family would like to express their deepest and sincere thanks to everyone for their prayers, support, thoughtfulness and love."

Surviving are: her two loving daughters, Cheryl Lawyer of Port Jervis, NY and Constance Martin and her companion, John Ramsell Port Jervis, NY; three grandchildren: Amanda, Kelsie, and Emma.

There will be no visitation.

Services will be held private.

Dear Cheryl and all the Family,

I will always remember your Mom. She was a very special person in helping me with my Avon orders and for being a good friend.
