Gregory Truchsess Obituary

Formerly of Otisville, NY

Gregory F. Truchsess, 59, died on July 24 2008, after a courageous battle with Pancreatic/Liver Cancer.

He was born May 19,1949, to Warren and Agatha Truchsess, in Brooklyn, NY, but raised in Danbury, CT.

In 1970, he joined the U.S. Army Reserve National Guard and was quickly awarded the rank of First Lieutenant. Upon finishing his tour of duty, Greg began his 30-year career in the Graphic Arts/Prepress Industry. In 1970, he went to work for Dow Jones - Ottaway News Papers Inc./Danbury News Times. After 12 years as a Night Foreman he transferred his job to The Times Herald-Record in Middletown, NY. It was in 1982 when he moved his family to Otisville, NY.

Shortly after moving, Greg branched out and went to work for AGFA Corp., in Teteboro, NJ. For the next 15 years he worked as an Account Manager and later on became a Technical Manager for the entire New York City and New England Area. In 2000, Greg moved to Orlando, FL to fulfill his dream of being a boat mechanic/private fishing Captain. He wanted to spend his remaining years at work doing something he loved, which was being on the water and fishing.

In August 2002, Greg married Linda Mattina and they moved to New Port Richey, FL. He is survived by his wife, Linda Truchsess of New Port Richey, FL; mother, Agatha Truchsess of Clearwater, FL; father-in-law, Tony Mattina; sister, Diana Truchsess of Nagatuck CT; sons: Vincent Truchsess of River Edge, NJ, Wayne Truchsess and wife, Patricia of Worcester MA; daughter, Denise Stern and husband, Lawrence of Harriman, NY; grandchildren: Sebastiana and Michael Truchsess of Worcester, MA and Victoria Stern of Harriman, NY.
