Paul Stillman Obituary

Newburgh, NY

Paul G. Stillman, of Newburgh, entered into rest on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus. He was 76.

Son of the late Herman and Meta Haussler Stillman, he was born on March 12, 1932 in Arapahoe, Nebraska. He married Barbara Nunez Stillman in 1954 in Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh.

Paul proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956, earning the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a Charter Member and 30-year elder of Trinity Lutheran Church, Walden. He retired from IBM, East Fishkill as a Systems Analyst and was involved with the Town of Newburgh Little League for many years.

In addition to his loving wife of 54 years, Barbara, he is survived by his children, Andrea Rose Overton and her husband, Daniel of Plattekill, Mark George Stillman and his wife, Tracey of Colorado Springs, CO, Carl Dean Stillman and his wife, Kathleen of Pine Bush and David Paul Stillman and his wife, Debra of Newburgh; sister, Lois Helms and her husband, Clarence of Arapahoe, NE; sister-in-law, Dolores Nunez Labrenz of Newburgh; grandchildren, Matthew, Tamara, Talia, Timothy, Lindsay, Kristen, Zachary, Samantha, Erica and Greg, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his sisters, Adelia Claussen and Lillian Helms.

Visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday, August 2 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2520 Rt. 208, Walden, NY, 12586. A funeral service will take place at 5 p.m.

Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh.

Burial of cremains will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul's memory may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 2520 Rt. 208, Walden, NY 12586 and/or the American Heart Association, Heart Gifts Processing Center, P.O. Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049.
