Mrs Cole, Wayne and Sherry,
When I heard the news of Mr Cole's passing my thoughts flashed back to my first visit to the Cole's residence. I was accompanying Wayne for a weekend home from college. My first impression of Mr Cole was of his smile and love of laughter. I also remember the delicious meals and my first taste of artichokes and Mr Cole's inkling for martini's and wine. There was also a weekend invite to the Lodge....more laughter and cocktails in front of that huge fireplace. That weekend I remember seeing fox, deer, a trapped bear that was being tagged and fishing on the lake. Wayne and I also walked to the beaver pond. Oh yes, I must not forget the weekend in Middletown when I met Sherry. For some reason there was a big earth moving vehicle that I wanted to drive. To this day I think Sherry thinks I am crazy. Now that Carol and I live in NC, we were looking forward to being neighbors in Waterford so we could continue our "laughter fest" with evening cocktails.
I write all this to convey our few but happy times and memories of Mr Cole. Carol and I send our sincere condolences to you in Mr Cole's passing....He will be missed.

Dear Sherry, You know that I am standing with you in your grief and in your support of your mother. You are to be commended for doing the right thing and staying strong and devoted. You have demonstrated the character that your parents have given you. I know they are proud of you. Thank you for sharing your Mom and Dad with my kids. Their Abuelos were special to them. Your father was a remarkable man and I know your loss. Thank you for reminding me once again how the women of the world stand up and take care of business and for being an example of doing the right thing for your family. Thank you for being a good nurse, and thank you for being my friend. I will be with you physically as much as possible during this time and always with you spiritually. I am proud to know you in this difficult time. We grieve with you and your family. We are here for you in any way you need. Love to all, Mary, Imelda and Arturo.

Dottie & Family,
I was very sorry to hear of Floyd's death. If it wasn't for Floyd back in 2004, we would never have been able to get ORRA(Orange and Rockland Retirees Association) up and running. As with all things, he was always ready to step up and take command. We needed a President so he stepped up and became our first President. He asked me to take on the task of Editor of ORRA. I will always be thankful that he gave me this opportunity. He had such confidence in me and praised my efforts when I had no idea what I was doing. I loved working with him. He was so interested in making ORRA a success. His former employment, and the many friends he made thru Orange and Rockland helped him in writing the articles for ORRA. He had an interest in so many things and all of the members, including myself, enjoyed reading the articles. He was such a good storyteller. I loved writing his articles. As I wrote the articles, I couldn't stop laughing. My last conversation with Floyd was May 21st, after our Annual Luncheon. I wanted to know how he was feeling but Floyd wanted to know in detail everything that transpired at the Luncheon from the Invocations, to the Program and the members who spoke. He grilled me on everything. The world was a much better place with him in it and I will miss him. May he rest in peace. I am sure he will keep everyone in stitches in heaven with his stories. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Dottie and family. May God Bless you. Love, Helen

Floyd was a great Engineer and fellow Naval Officer. It was always a pleasure to be with such a fine gentleman and professional. He achieved much and optimized his life for all.
