Marie Davis Obituary
Marie C. Davis of Port Jervis, NY, died on Sunday, August 3, 2008 at Middletown Park Manor Middletown, NY. She was 70.
The daughter of the late George and Helena Grimm Hossann she was born on September 6, 1937 in Secaucus, NJ. Marie was a member of Denton Presbyterian Church, the Greenville V.F.W., a former member of the Huguenot Lions Club and the snack lady at the B.B.S. (Bible School in Slate Hill). She also was a girl scout leader in Minisink, which she really enjoyed and received awards for. She was an outgoing lady who always wanted to help others. She was both strong in spirit and body and cared for everyone.
Marie is survived by her husband, Raymond, at home; sons, William G. Mathis and his wife, Sindee of Sparrowbush, and Raymond C. Davis, Jr., and his wife, Bambi of Middletown; daughters, Rita C. York and her husband, Harry of Washington, FL and Rachel C. Davis-Harrington and her husband, Richard of Port Jervis; two brothers, George Hossann of Greenville and Dennis Hossann of Lake George; sister Cecelia of NC; and ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister, Helena W. Hossann.
Visitation hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave, Middletown, NY.
The Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, August 6, at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Peter Johnson, will officiate. Cremation will be private.
Memorial contributions in Marie's name may be made to American Cancer Society, 419 Main St., Middletown, NY 10940.

Dear sweet Marie you where my step mom for almost 26 years I know you are at peace with your Lord he will allow you to rest . Without pain You are free to smell all the flowers along the walk ways of Heaven you no long have to worry I will miss you my only regret is my children will never meet their other grandmother only in my stories to them but I know you will be watching over all of us from your garden We all will be together again soon In his glory Love your daugher Rita husband Larry grandkids Timothy Olivia and Nicholas York
