Maureen Hensel Obituary

Formerly of Middletown, NY

Maureen Hensel, 65, of Whitesboro, and formerly of Middletown, NY, Rochester, NY and Hurst, TX passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at the Pine's Nursing Facility in Utica with her loving family by her side.

She was born on June 20, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of the late Irving and Patricia (Decent) Miller. She was raised in Middletown, NY and attended local schools there. In 1970 she married Donald P. Hensel, a blessed union of over 37 years. After residing in Rochester for a number of years, they moved to Hurst. TX, where she was employed with Ticor Reality. After her retirement in 2005 she moved to Whitesboro, NY, which was her husband Donald's hometown.

Maureen was a very loving and caring person who loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid pet lover who loved her special canine companions Gizmo a Shih Tzu, and Little Ray a Chihuahua.

She is survived by her husband, Donald P. Hensel of Whitesboro; her stepchildren, Sue Mondi of Batavia, NY, Scott Hensel and his wife, Margaret of Chittenango, NY, Donald A. Hensel and his wife, Debby of Whitesboro, NY, and Robert J. Hensel of Conesus, NY. She also leaves eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren; her brothers and sisters, Douglas L. Miller and his wife, Shauna of Oakton, VA, Tim J. Miller and his wife, Rona of West Palm Beach, FL, Elise L. Cross and her husband, Jack of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Nicholas A. Miller of Brooksville, FL, and her special uncle, Ron Miller of N.Y.C., and several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, August 9, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams and Edmunds Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Whitesboro, NY.

There will be a short prayer service at the conclusion of calling hours.

i, would like to espress my sorrow for the entire hensel/miller and especially to that of the cross family, i, only met maureen a few brief times, and even though she had been sick for so long, she shined just being around her family and loved ones, may she finally find peace
