Middletown, NY

Valerie C. Hasbrouck of Middletown, NY died August 8, 2008. She was 59 years old.

The beloved daughter of Mary M. Hasbrouck and the late Adrian Robert Hasbrouck, Valerie was born April 11, 1949, and raised in Middletown, NY.

She graduated from St. Joseph Parochial School (Class of 1963) and then also graduated from Middletown High School (Class of 1967). During her high school years, she was a member of the Drama Club, which she very much enjoyed, and performed in high school plays. She graduated in 1967 from Middletown High School and received a full scholarship to Orange County Community College, where Valerie graduated Magna Cum Laude, earning her Associate's Degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician. Valerie then furthered her education at Mount Saint Mary's College.

Valerie was a very special and cherished member of her family. She was always kind, gentle and soft spoken to everyone. She had a great kindness about her, a wonderful sense of humor, and was always there and ready to lend a hand when needed. She will be missed beyond what any words can express.

Valerie was predeceased by her father, Adrian Robert Hasbrouck, and her sister, Veronica Ann Johnson. Valerie is survived by her loving mother, Mary M. Hasbrouck; sisters, Maryann Skrobanski and husband, Richard and Elizabeth Zanetti and husband, Frederic, all of Middletown; brothers, Paul Hasbrouck of Hickory, NC, John Hasbrouck and his wife, Joanne of Port Jervis, and Robert Hasbrouck of Middletown. Valerie is also survived by nieces, nephews and great nieces who were as special to her as 'Aunt Val' was to them: Christina Terranova and husband, Gino of Middletown; Matthew Skrobanski and wife, Elizabeth of Virginia; Jason and Caroline Zanetti, and Jennifer Warren Hasbrouck of Middletown, Paul Hasbrouck and wife, Christine of Georgia; Michael, Elizabeth, and Mary Hasbrouck of Maybrook, Gianna and Isabella Terranova of Middletown; Samantha, Brett and Cassandra, of Port Jervis.

The family and friends of Valerie C. Hasbrouck would like to extend special thanks and appreciation to Dr. Robert Dinsmore and staff and the Hospice of Orange County and Martha.

Visitation will be Monday, August 11, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Morse Funeral Home Inc., 33 Railroad Avenue, Middletown, NY.

A Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's R.C. Church on Tuesday, August 12, at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the guidance of Morse Funeral Home, 845-343-6918.

I AM EXTREMELY SADDENED BY THE PASSING OF MY GOOD CHILDHOOD FRIEND, VALERIE. DURING 45 YEARS OF FRIENDSHIP, WE NEVER SPOKE A CROSS WORD TO OR ABOUT EACH OTHER. I WISH I COULD BE THERE TO EXPRESS MY SYMPATHY IN PERSON! I SEND MY LOVE TO TWO MORE LIFE LONG FRIENDS, DEAREST MARY ANN AND HER HUSBAND,RICHARD. MY PRAYERS GO OUT TO THE ENTIRE HASBROUCK FAMILY. SWEET VAL'S TRIALS ARE OVER. SHE IS HEALTHY AND HAPPY. OUR HEAVENLY FATHER PROMISED HER THAT. HE KEEPS HIS PROMISES.
