Stephen Sedletzky Obituary

Bethel, NY

Stephen A. Sedletzky, a lifetime area resident, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2008 at the Wayne County Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, PA. He was 89 years of age.

The son of the late Anthony and Agnes Stepanuck Sedletzky, he was born on September 28, 1918 in N.Y.C. Stephen was office manager for Combined Energy Services in Monticello, NY.

He was a WW II Army Veteran; a member of St. George's Roman Catholic Church in Jeffersonville where he was Senior Usher; the Bethel Lions Club; and a 55-year member of the White Lake Fire Dept having served as Fire Commissioner. He was also an avid Yankees fan.

Survivors include his wife, Lillian Elsworth Sedletzky at home; a stepson, Robert DuBois and wife, Joanne of Orange Lake, FL; a stepdaughter, Nancy Brown and husband, Gerald of Jeffersonville; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three nieces, Donna Tyler, Nancy Matrafallo, and Janice Zeller; one nephew, Kevin O'Connell; one sister, Francis O'Connell and husband, Robert of New City; and several grandnieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Aileen Van Fradenburg and Ginger Libitsky.

Friends may call on Wednesday, August 13, from 5-8 p.m. at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 3534 State Rt 55, Kauneonga Lake, NY. The Bethel Lions Club will hold services at 7 p.m. and the White Lake Fire Dept services will be at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at Ramsay's Funeral Home on Thursday, August 14, at 11 a.m. with the Revs. Ivan Csete and David Coon officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Rt 17B, Bethel, NY with full military honors.
