Sandra Perez Obituary
Sandra Jo Perez, 56, of Monroe, entered into rest on Friday, August 8, 2008 at home surrounded by her family.
The daughter of the late Walter and Catherine Kearns, she was born on July 30, 1952 in Philadelphia, PA.
She was a 35 year resident of Monroe and in June 2008, Sandra retired from the Monroe-Woodbury Central School District, where she taught for 24 years in both Central Valley Elementary School and the Middle School.
Sandy is survived at home by her loving husband, Ralph of 35 years; two daughters, Tracy Ferrill and her husband, Mathew of Monroe and Katie Perez of Monroe; her sister, Rita Boughrum of Alpharetta, GA; three brothers, Steven Kearns of Pittsburgh, PA, Charles Kearns of Wilmington, DE, and Walter Kearns, Jr. of Salem, VA; and twenty nieces and nephews.
The family of Sandy Perez would like to extend special thanks and appreciation to the Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, Inc.
There will be no visitation.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 16, at 10 a.m. at St. Anastasia Parish Church, Route 17M, Harriman. Inurnment will follow in Seamanville Cemetery in Monroe.
In lieu of flowers, read a book to a child, tell someone you love them, and hug a friend. Memorial donations can be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, 5005 LBJ Fwy, Suite 250, Dallas, TX 75244; www.komen.org.

I had Mrs. Perez when I was at Central Valley Elementary school. She was one of my all time favorite teachers. I remember very well when I had trouble with other kids in my class. I went to Mrs. Perez because I was very upset. She consoled me like any great teacher would do. SHe made me feel so much better. I will really miss her and wish my deepest simpities for her entire family.
