George Paulison Obituary

Matamoras, PA

Mr. George T. Paulison of Matamoras, PA and a lifetime resident of the area died Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at Westchester Medical Center. He was 80.

He was born January 4, 1928 in Port Jervis, NY the son of the late George M. and the late Lorena McDonald Paulison. George married Joyce Meaney on October 23, 1955 in Sacred Heart R.C. Church in Port Jervis, NY. George worked as a Grocery Clerk for 40 years with Grand Union in Port Jervis, NY. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WW II. George was a member of St. Joseph´s R.C. Church, Matamoras, PA. He was a member of Elks Lodge No. 645, Port Jervis.

A family statement read: "He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed but will forever be in our thoughts."

Surviving are wife of 52 years Joyce Paulison at home; son, George M. Paulison and his wife, Robin Elizabethtown, PA; son, Brian J. Paulison and his wife, Hilary of Milford, PA; daughter, Karen M. Danforth of Matamoras, PA; brother, Donald Paulison and his wife, Carole of Bethel Park, PA; six grandchidren: Tanya, Michael, Brendan and Devin Paulison, Dakota and Sierra Danforth; niece, Kathleen Paulison; and nephew, Jamie Paulison; one predeceased, brother, John Paulison; predeceased son-in-law, Kurtis Danforth.

Friends may call at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, Inc., 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis on Friday, August 15, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 16, with 10 a.m. prayer at the funeral home followed by an 11 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's R.C. Church, 307 Ave., Matamoras, PA 18336 with the Rev. August A. Ricciardi officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Port Jervis, NY.

Memorial contributions may be made to Kurtis Danforth Children's Education Fund, C/O Bank of America, 13 Hammond St., Port Jervis, NY 12771.
