Raymond Gannon Obituary

Newburgh, NY

Raymond Gannon, of Newburgh, entered into rest on Friday, August 15, 2008. He was 87.

Son of the late Francis B. and Elizabeth Noone Gannon, he was born on March 25, 1921 in the Bronx, NY. He was married to Marie Gannon, who predeceased him.

"Raymond was a wonderful husband and loving father, who will be missed by all."

He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. during WW II and was a retired supervisor for Western Electric Telephone Company. He was also a member of Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh and the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his loving children, Patricia Lewis and her husband, George of California, William Gannon and his wife, Margaret of Colorado, Raymond Gannon and his wife, Debra of Ohio, Eileen Kennedy and her husband, James of Tennessee, Joseph Gannon and his wife, Patricia of Newburgh; and nine grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday, August 24, at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 25, at Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh. Burial will take place in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Raymond's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 419 E. Main St., Middletown, NY 10940.
