Lucy Marie Wyant

Lucy Marie Wyant, 86, formerly of Clearwater, FL and a three-year resident of Deerpark, NY, passed on to our heavenly Father on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at Milford Senior Care and Rehabilitation in Milford, PA.

Lucy was the daughter of the late Joseph and Virginia Glorioso Ribando. She was born January 4, 1922 in Chester, NY.

In her early years, she resided in Middletown, NY and worked as a seamstress for Miss Swank Lingerie. In 1974, she moved to Florida where she continued her sewing and cared for the sick and elderly. In 2006, she returned to NYS and lived with her daughter in Deerpark.

She is survived by her daughter, Viola Sinsabaugh and her husband, Dean of the Town of Deerpark; her granddaughter, Carlene Marie Pfeister of Deerpark; sister, Josephine Green of Linden, NJ. Lucy was predeceased by her brothers, Henry, John, Nickolas; her sisters, Mary, Virginia, Frances, Anna and Rose.

A family statement reads: "My Mom was a fiercely independent, hardworking woman. She was raised up on the family's produce farm in Chester, NY. Her joy was sewing, cooking and keeping an immaculate home. She never asked for anything from anyone. She helped many people in her lifetime. Her wisdom was work hard and don't waste anything. She believed in God and prayers. During her three-year battle with Alzheimer's she received an enormous amount of love and care from her family and caregivers. Despite her illness, she knew she was loved and cared for. A special heartfelt gratitude for the professional compassionate care given to my Mom by the nursing staff of Milford Senior Care & Rehabilitation and Diakom Hospice Saint John."

Lucy's wishes to be cremated with no ceremony will be respected.
