Rosa Amaya Obituary

Newburgh, NY

Rosa Amaya of Newburgh, a Maintenance worker for IBM Fishkill, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus. He was 67.

The son of Cruz and Angela Benavides Amaya, he was born on August 31, 1940 in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.

He is survived by his daughter, Georgina Amaya of Newburgh; two sons, Romer Amaya of Middletown and Marcos Amaya of Peekskill; grandchildren, Anthony Amaya, Claribel Diaz Amaya, Mariela Aponte, Jennifer Aponte and Rosa Diaz Amaya; two great grandchildren, Analisse Montoya and Yariel Bonilla; two sisters, Amelia Amaya and Teresa Amaya, both of Honduras; two brothers, Predro and Roberto Amaya, both of Honduras and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held today, Sunday, August 31 from 1-3 p.m. at Hudson Valley Funeral Home, Inc., 239 Quassaick Ave. (Rte 94), New Windsor. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 3 p.m. in the funeral home.

Cremation will be at the convenience of the family.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Anthony V. Cracolici of the Hudson Valley Funeral Home, Inc.; 845-562-4411.
