Joseph Bonetti Obituary
Joseph C. Bonetti, Jr. of Plattekill, NY, passed away on September 2, 2008 at Vassar Bros. Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was 61.
He was born September 20, 1946 in Cornwall, NY.
Joseph (Chuck) was a Corrections Officer at Downstate Correctional Facility and Wallkill Correctional Facility. He served two tours in Vietnam with the U.S. Air Force.
He was Post Commander of the V.F.W. Post #973 in Newburgh, NY. He was a member of AmVets and the American Legion. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking, camping, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include daughters, Tracy Bonetti and partner, Brian McCleary of Newburgh, Andrea Bonetti and spouse, Jermaine James of Plattekill; a son, Marc Bonetti and partner, Sara Coulter of Plattekill; brothers: Peter Bonetti and his wife, Annette, John Angell (Mary), Thomas Angell and Warren Angell; sisters: Jean Fong (George), Barbara Yukoweic (Walter), Linda Wells (Stewart), and Ann Neustat; grandchildren: Ashley Sisson, Zackary Bonetti, Jarrid McCleary; nieces, Nichole Bonetti Lee, and Erin Gallagher; nephews, Joseph Bonetti and Brian Pulliam; aunt, Pauline Hall, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Also, his very dear friend, Mary Ann Natoli. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph C. Bonetti Sr. and Rose Ramsden Bonetti; wife, Linda Bonetti; granddaughter, Marisa Bonetti and stepmother, Anna Angell Bonetti.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 5, from 5-9 p.m., at James F. Lulves Funeral Home, Inc., 9 Avenue A, Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 6, at 9 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Orange County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 111 Craigville Rd., Goshen, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Center at Vassar Bros. Hospital, Reade Pl., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.

Joe and I go back to South Junior High days. I rememeber him trying to get me to join the VFW when I use to see him during the Memorial day weekends at the VFW on Robinson Ave.

My Mom and Dad (Lois & Bill Hawks) was best of friends for many years to Joseph (Chuckie) and family. They are celebrating 60 yrs. of marriage 9/12 We would just like to say God Bless and deepest sympathy to the family and will always keep in him in our prayers

Stewart and I were very suprised and saddened to hear about your Dads' passing. I know all of you and your children have wonderful memories of him that will help you through this difficult time.
