George Deaner Obituary
George Richard Deaner of Monroe, NY, the General Manager for the N.Y.S. Thruway Service area, entered into rest on Monday, September 8, 2008 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 69.
The son of Blair Deaner and Irene Miller, he was born May 23, 1939 in Shellsburg, PA.
A family statement reads: "He was a great Dad, loving husband, and the #1 Pap Pap that will be missed and loved forever by his adoring family and his dear friends."
He is survived by his wife, Mari Vic Deaner of Monroe, NY; son, Richard Travis of Goshen; daughters, Lisa Minutolo of Cornwall, Jonna and her husband, Chris Gorman of Monroe, Dana Deaner of Wallkill, and Becky Deaner of Salisbury Mills; brother, Jack and his wife, Joan Deaner of New Paris, PA; aunt, Mary Carpenter of Martinsburg, PA; grandchildren: Shannon Minutolo, Christopher, and Zach Gorman; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Jeanne Deaner.
Visitation will be today, Thursday, September 11, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North St., Washingtonville, NY.
Services will be held on Friday, September 12, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bruynswick Rural Cemetery, Shawangunk, NY.
Arrangements are under the care of Thomas A. Murray of the David T. Ferguson Funeral Home; 845-496-9106.

I was very shocked to hear of your Father's passing. Please accept my deepest sympathy. I was very close to Dick when we worked on the Thruway together. I'm sorry I couldn't attend the services. You are in my prayers.
