Dad,
First off, lets start with the obvious…
I love you.
I love you for always being there for me. It didn’t matter what time I needed you, the only thing that did matter was the fact that I could count on you to always be by my side.
I love you for every single smile that you have brought to my face. You always made sure that you took me wherever you knew we would have fun. But in the end, it didn’t matter where we went or what we did, the only thing that mattered was that we were together. You have given me more fun filled, and happy times in only 14 years, than most parents have given their children in a lifetime.
I love you because you were more than a dad to me: you were a role model, a teacher, and above all my best friend, not many fourteen year olds can say that about their 58 year old father. We did everything together. Everyone at school always said you were the coolest dad ever and when I brought my friends to Newburgh for the weekend, you always made sure we had the best time.
I love the way you were with people. You had a special talent and I don’t even think you knew it. You didn’t even have to try to make people happy, you just did. It was what made you so special. It didn’t matter whether you were with a lifelong friend, or a complete stranger, you always left them happy and smiling. You were always thinking about everyone else. Whether it was taking somebody who was having a bad day for a ride in your corvette, and making them feel like a superstar, or brightening the house in Montauk, for everyone to enjoy. You brought so much happiness, wherever you went. I know that I was not the only one that had to smile every time I saw you.
I love you, Dad, everyone loves you, and I know you love us. You loved so many things. I can see you with a can of TAB in your hand, or riding to Montauk in your red Corvette with a big cigar in your mouth. I loved spending my birthday with you, Eugene, Joyce, Sam, Lizzie and Alex. So many of our memories are at the beach, I will always love Montauk, LBI, and Florida. Although it will never be the same going there without you, I have so many memories of you to last me a lifetime.
You were always so happy to introduce me as your son and I will always be as happy to call you my dad. You always told me how proud you were of me- no matter how big the accomplishment.
Your personality always left an impression. I can still see your smile and hear your laugh. Whether it be the oil man, the man with the huge Christmas trees, or just Marty. Poppy and Uncle Jamie are with you now. We will all remember you forever and because you meant so much we miss you even more. I can’t even believe you’re not physically here anymore, and not that anyone wants to die, I know you especially were not ready to say goodbye. I know this isn’t goodbye, your memory and soul will always be in our hearts, and no matter how much time goes by that connection will never fade. I am so proud of you, and I am so lucky that you left half of you with me.
Dad, I love you so much and i wish you could still be here with us.

Claire/Lou - I think about everyone so often. I am very sorry to hear about Marty. I will always remember him as the one and only man to ride a horse to The Rail, and when he wanted to leave, the horse was gone. He was a ton of laughs and good times. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Racanelli Family
I haven't seen you all for years but I was so sorry to hear about Marty. For sure he made me laugh lots in my younger years. He was the first one to help me plan a big party and offer the huge homemade grill. he was the best dressed klinger for the mash party. He was like a big brother to me in those years. he was a good friend.
