Ronald Hickey Obituary

Middletown, NY

Ronald J. Hickey of Middletown, NY, died Sunday, September 14, 2008, at home surrounded by his loving family in Lords Valley, PA. He was 61 years old.

The son of Miriam T. Thorn and the late John J. Hickey, he was born March 4, 1947 in Yonkers, NY.

A Plumber employed by Plumbers & Steamfitters Local #21 in Peekskill, NY, Mr. Hickey was a member of the Middletown Elks Club and the American Legion Post #151 in Middletown, NY.

Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara, at home; four sons: Ronald T. and his wife, Katherine Hickey, Brian and his wife, Cher Hickey, all of Middletown, Thomas J. Hickey and Kevin P. Hickey of Lords Valley, PA; his daughter, Colleen Marie Archer and her partner, Wanetta Satomaa; his brother, John J. Hickey and his wife, Suzanne of Yonkers, NY; five grandchildren and a great-grandson. He is also survived by uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter, Lori Ann Hickey Sukowaski in August of this year.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., on Tuesday, September 16, at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, NY.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 17, at 11:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church, 90 Euclid Ave., Middletown, NY, with Father Frank Dixon officiating. Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory, Middlehope, NY.

Memorial donations in Ronald's name may be made to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, 99 Sparta Ave., Newton, NJ 07860 or Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Hudson Valley, 832 S. Broadway, Tarrytown, NY 10591.
