Stephen Kelly Obituary

Modena, NY

Stephen M. Kelly, age 70, of Modena, died Monday, September 15, 2008 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus.

Mr. Kelly was born December 15, 1937 in New York City, NY, the son of the late Martin and the late Mary (Egan) Kelly.

He was a communicant of St. Charles Borromeo Church, Gardiner, NY; member of the Knights of Columbus Cardinal Spellman Council #5800 and 4th Degree Assembly, and the Ancient Order of Hiberians, Kingston, NY.

He was retired from Equitable Life Assurance, New York City.

He is survived by many cousins.

Calling hours will be today, Thursday, September 18, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Copeland Funeral Home, Inc., 162 S. Putt Corners Rd., New Paltz, NY.

Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Route 44/55, Gardiner, NY, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Robert Panek. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.

Steve is remembered fondly by his cousins in Ireland. His late parents came from Co Clare and his father Martin was born in Frure, Lissycasey.The families of Steves uncles still live here and have good memories of a gentle and patriotic cousin . May he rest in peace. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam.
