Arthur Dassori Obituary

Middletown, NY

Arthur J. Dassori, 93, of Middletown, died Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at the Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus, Middletown.

He was born on May 9, 1915, in Jersey City to Charles and Augustina Gabarini Dassori.

He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force as an airplane inspector in World War II. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and Boppie. An avid gardener, he grew vegetables, flowers, and even peanuts in his garden. He also enjoyed woodworking and left us many items he created. His occupation was a well-driller at Davis & Dassori Well Drilling.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette at home; two daughters, Loraine Fitzgerald and her husband, Patrick of South Centerville, NY and Sharon Dassori-Valdivieso and her husband, Carlos of Stanford, NY; four grandchildren: Vanessa, Annette, Rachel and Rebecca. He was the last survivor of five siblings: Sylvester, Charles, Edna, Edward, and Harold.

Visitation will be on Friday, September 19, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Ave., Middletown, NY.

A Funeral Service of Remembrance will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 20, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Orange County Veterans Cemetery, 111 Craigsville Rd., Goshen, NY, with military honors.
