Michael Culhane Obituary
Michael J. Culhane, a 25-year area resident, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. He was 71.
The son of the late John Culhane and Cathleen Darcy Culhane, he was born on September 12, 1937 in the Bronx, NY.
He was a retired Deputy Sheriff for the Orange County Sheriff Department in New Hampton. He was an instructor in the Orange County Sheriff Department Academy and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. and the United States Navy, serving during the Korean War.
Survivors include his sons, John R. Culhane and his wife, Gail of Middletown and Robert J. Culhane and his wife, Lisa of Washingtonville; sister, Cathleen McLean of Glendoria, CA; four grandchildren, Bonniejean, Katlyn, Allison and Sean; two great grandchildren, Dustin and Cassidy; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 24, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Avenue, Monroe.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 25, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Still Road, Monroe. Interment will follow in Orange County Veterans' Cemetery in Goshen.

To the family of Mike, I want to express my deepest sympathies and condolences. I have known Mike since I was attending the Police Academy in 1985.(Rogers Raiders). He was one of my training officers when I started at the Sheriff's Office. I have many memories of lessons learned and rides together. I am sorry for your loss.
