Maria Olensky Obituary
Mrs. Maria Olensky of Glen Spey, NY, died Sunday, September 21, 2008 at Bon Secours Community Hospital. She was 96.
She was born March 3, 1912 in Ukraine, the daughter of the late Jakiw and the late Mychajla Sitarchuk Agris.
Maria was married to the late John Olensky and was predeceased by her two daughters, Arcadia and Chrystyna.
She worked in the Garment Industry in New York City as a Fore Lady.
She was a member of Ukrainian National Womens' League of America, UNWLA Branch # 62 and The Ukrainian Museum in New York City.
Maria is survived by many close friends.
Friends may call at the Gray-Parker Funeral Home, 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis on Thursday, September 25, from 2-4 p.m. with a Panachyda Service at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 26 with a Liturgy Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Volodymyr's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Glen Spey, NY with Rev. Yaroslav Kostyk officiating.
Burial will be at St. Andrew's Cemetery, So. Bound Brook, NJ.
Memorial contributions may be made to UNWLA, NYC Headquarters, 203 Second Ave., New York, NY 10003 or The Ukrainian Museum, 222 East 6th St., New York, NY 10003.

YOUR BELOVED DAUGHTER, CHRYSTYA, WAS A DEAR FRIEND TO ME WHEN I WAS A TEEN AGE GIRL IN NYC. I SPENT A MEMORABLE CHRISTMAS EVE AT YOUR 14TH ST. APARTMENT MANY, MANY YEARS AGO. I SHALL NEVER FORGET IT.
