Jesse Ware Obituary
Jesse Lee Ware, Sr., a 56-year resident of Newburgh and a retired Iron Worker for the Foundry of Newburgh, departed this life for life eternal on Sunday, September 21, 2008 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus.
Jesse was born March 13, 1932 to the parentage of the late Ozere Ware and Mattie Thomas in Proctor, AR.
Jesse is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Meriam Ware; sons, Matthew Ware (Brenda) of Marion, AR, Jesse Ware, Jr. (Bernice) of Smithfield, VA, Duane Ware (Alicia) of Newburgh, William A. Ware (Melinda) of Newburgh, Dale C. Ware (Dia) of Kingston, NY and Carl Dubose of Seattle, WA; daughter, Jessie Mae Ware-Sefa (Robert) of Chicago, IL; three brothers, Pete Ware (Bernice) of Newburgh, Corneilus (Mann) Ware of Middletown, NY and Ozere (Pumpy) Ware of Wappinger Falls, NY; sisters, Juanita Carroll (William) of Newburgh and Marietta Woody (Alvin) of Newburgh, Bobbie Jean Clegg of Memphis, TN, Easter Dolce and sister-in-law, Annie Mae Ware of Baton Rouge, LA; 25 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by a son, Sammy Lee Ware and daughter, Mary Jean Ware Whitaker and brothers, Isaiah Ware and Jack Foster Ware.
Visitation will be Friday, September 26, from 10-11 a.m. at the New Hope Baptist Church, 20 Mill St., Newburgh. Services begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Coleman Briggs officiating. Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Middlehope, NY.
